1970 Kennedy proof

First of all, give your honest opinions on pic quality. I believe that I learned some important things about picture taking today.
Secondly, how about some honest opinions on a grade on this coin..... Thanks, Kenimage

I'm no expert on pics, so I'll leave that, but you should pull a 67DCAM with that one, chance at 68......the fields kinda look like the planchet wasn't rinsed right before striking.

I have a 70s Kennedy in 67dcam that looked like that before I dipped it in ezest/water mix. Real nice coin now, but dipping exposed some hairlines.

    Ken,

The picture is really good! Lots of detail. You can always shoot it one way or the other to queue up or queue down the field distractions that proofs have. Nice going!

My gut said 67CA when I first saw it because of the material on the mirrors. If it were curated, the devices against the mirrors look to be DC. Also, it is shot 68 if it were curated.

Nice coin! Those are harder in DC than most folks think!

That pic is as good as it gets... especially when shooting proofs.... I can see tiny milk spots on this coin and with shots like this, it maybe possible to find hairlines although, the coin would have to be photographed with this detail at various angles...

    great photo...

Ken, I like the pics alot and the detail is fabulous. I wish all sellers took shots that good. As for the half, it is a cam with an outside shot at dcam, but the hairlines on the obverse will kill the grade. I'd count the coin in the PR65 range. It is impaired. The slide marks in the left obverse would be invisible in a worse pic.

  • Yes, my friends, these are hard to find in Dcam in this era. Thats why I'm so proud of this one that I found raw just 2 months ago. Makes your day to find one like this one...Ken

Ken, are the lines from left to right across the field and neck slide marks on the holder?
