Spam...hmmm think about this one!

I received an email today from remove.org. They say they are compiling a National Opt Out, or "do not spam" list.

Dont know about you but I would not trust an organization that sent out spam about being removed
from Spam lists.

Even if they are legit, most spammers would pay no attention anyway. Matter of fact, many would subscribe to the service just to get a huge list of known good eMail addresses.

My service through Knology and on cable modem offered this service. I signed up and it removes any spam from my account at the main servers for the company. Now, if I recieve any, it is ussually from a site I visited which will piggyback spam to your address. I might recieve at best 3 a day and unsubscribe.

Sometimes, when you read the fine print and it says 'to unsubscribe. . .' and you are supposed to e-mail them or reply in some fashion, what happens is they put you on MORE spam lists.
