Just rec'd today in email the following msg.
..................................................................................................................
Dear valued eBay member:
It has come to our attention that your eBay billing informations are
out of order. If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your
online experience and update your personal records you will not run
into any future problems with the online service. However, failure
to update your records will result in account suspension. Please
update your records by August 10th.

Once you have updated your account records your eBay session will not be
interrupted and will continue as normal. Failure to update will result in
cancellation of service, Terms of Service (TOS) violations or future
problems.

As you can see, it is far better worded than the PayPal account number probe of a few weeks ago.
With the link and all, it looks VERY real.
Maybe it is, but I am not filling it out.

Looks like a SUPER SCAM to me.

The scammers learn quickly. Delete it as quickly as possible. Don't play any games with them. Remember, you are dealing with scum.

Just remember, if it provides you a link to click, or automaticly takes you to a site to enter your information rather than just TELL you to go to the website, it is fake!

I must be on a list or something.

Between Ebay and Paypal I have been getting about one of these a week.

I would think they would be taking some kind of legal action against these folks to slow them down.

I bet lots of folks are sucked in by these.image

Conder.....you mean if they DID need info, they would send an email telling you to ENTER the site??

I .....WAS....wondering how they could UPDATE the records for REAL being that I will NEVER respond to an email.

This time it came with a return address of "support@ebay.com" and THAT is a real bad thing.

Tempted to fill the form with junk but don't want to confirm my email address.

How DO they do it if there is a legit problem??

  • I received one this morning from an awconfirm@ebay.com that said I had committed Identity Fraud on Ebay and my account would be suspended if I didn't comply and enter all my information, which was enclosed in the body of the text, including credit card, mailing address, and such info. I e-mailed Customer Support on Ebay, and they just e-mailed me back that they were indeed not from Ebay and to delete it as soon as possible. There must be a new surge of these coming out.

This garbage is really turning into a flood. While it isn't directly related to this thread, I received an e-mail this week informing me that I had won a lottery, something that is hard to do since I hadn't entered any.
    It was quickly deleted.
    All glory is fleeting.
