a LITTLE EXPERIMENTAL SONG THAT WAS way AHEAD OF ITS TIME CALLED "nEW wORLD oVERTURE"! hAS ANYBODY ELSE EVER HEARD OF IT? iT WAS THE FLIP SIDE OF A 45, AND WAS NOTHING BUT SOME STRING INSTRUMENTALS ACCOMPANIED BY SCREECHES, ETC FROM WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A JUNGLE FULL OF MONKEYS!! IT WAS THE "B" SIDE OF SOME 45 MY BROTHER BOUGHT!!

Be Bop A Lula!! "Senorita HepKitty" "I want a real cool Kitty from Hepcat City, to stay in step with me" - Bill Carter
Oh yeah, the Beach Boys. Who could not like the beach boys. I have their greatest summer hits cd. I'm only 15, but I fell in love with the music when I first heard it 6 years ago, I've been hooked on it ever since. I really like Good Vibrations and Surfin USA.

In memory of BL, SM, and KG. 16 and forever young, rest in peace.
"Not Fade Away" - Buddy Holly in the fifties, Stones in the sixties, and the greatest band of all time (GD) in the seventies, eighties, and ninties. Anyone that's heard "The Dead" do this song, along with their audience, knows what I'm talkin' about!
I like Elvis as much as a I do getting beat up. I just dont see how a pudgy guy addicted to drugs who wears tight white pants and shakes his hips could be called the king of rock and roll. But I guess I missed that era so I dont know about that style. (Whole post is just in my opinion.)

Elvis was the Ultimate Hepcat and the coolest in 56!!! He was so dreamy...... I loved him and still do.... Here is a video in real audio, a 3 meg file of the Hepcat Rockin' Bably Lets play House!!!
God Only Knows by the Beach Boys. I'm a huge Beach Boys fan also (my cousin went to school with Dennis Wilson btw).If I had to choose one song though that would be it.Thanks Lucy for running a very Fun Fun Fun contest.
Friends are Gods way of apologizing for your relatives.
In a godda da vida long version and really stoned. Interesting side light my current wife was a sole survivor of a murder scene where her 2 best friends were shot and killed and she laid under the bodies for an hour to hide from the killer. I didnt know about this until I played Inagoddadavida and she freaked on me. That long version was playing when the killer went nuts and starting killing his friends. That was weird. I can only listen to it when shes not at home.
Also love do wah diddi diddi dum diddi do. Manfred Mann Taught both of my daughters to sing it when they were 2 years old. To this day its still a family sing-a-long on road trips.

Too many favorites; driving song, dance song, slow dance song, so I'll go with an obscure one. My English teacher in high school was one of the Gentrys so I'll go with "Keep On Dancing" 1965. Went to #2 behind some Beatles song. This is a very annoying song. If you hear it once you'll hum it all day long. I'll assume no one but the Lucymiester will remember it. A one hit wonder as the group broke up to return to their real jobs as teachers.

I dont know when it came out but my all time favorite is Paradise by the dashboard lights by Meat loaf. Ya gotta listen to the words. It is really long but probably the greatest and most realistic ballad of all time. Stop right there... before we go any further.. do you love me, will you love me forever, do you need me, will you never leave me, will you make me so happy for the rest of my life, will you take me away, will you make me your wife, I gotta know right now...before we go any further do you love me? will you love me forever?
Hey Jude is a great song... it was played when I went to the Rockies game with the ANA Summer Seminar people Plus, that coin is really amazing... thanks for holding the giveaway.
Luciell, please come back where you belong. [ sorry, I don't remember the rest of the words]
So from the 50's I'd say "Peggy Sue"
From the 60's I'd say "Good Vibrations"

Mine would be L'il Red Riding Hood, by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. It's the song that was playing when I first met my wife way back when. I sang along. I'm sure that was what won her over

Above incorrectly referenced "the voice." Every contemporary acknowledged the "real" voice was Roy -- How about "In Dreams I walk With You." Now, THAT was THE voice! ........Disagree and expect an unfriendly visit from Dennis Hopper.
