    Conder -

Did you ask him who the certified the coin? I don't see any name on the label and he doesn't show the reverse.

Haven't asked the company name, and he may not know it, but the label shows initials of USGS. I list a USGA (United States Grading & Authentication), USGC (United States Grading Company) and a USGCS (US Grading and Certification Service). All of these are old companies. The holder appears to be a 2X2 plastic flip inside of a Trugrade style slab shell. which would make it a recent entry into the TPG services.

I thought that looked like a flip too, but the coin seems centered nicely so it's hard to tell. Maybe they glued it in?

It's probably better not to bother him while he's still mourning

Hey, if it's a true story, I feel bad for the guys. But it sure sounds like a scam to me.

If you look at the other one he is selling the flip shows very clearly.

I looked at the coin that was MS66 and saw lots of nicks/scratches on the face and decided whoever it is must grade really loose

the pictures are not good enough to have a clue on condtition - just what USGS said, whoever that is/was

I hope the guy left more collateral than that or else did not borrow much - heck maybe he was the scammer and took MS60 coins, put them in a nice package and showed his friend how much they are worthimage
