Graders buying/selling coins

Mr. Hall,

It was my belief that PCGS graders were not allowed to buy and sell coins as their dealings could influence their assinging grades to specific coins. This was challenged in a post on the US Coin forum, so I'd just like to ask so we can come to a definitive answer.

    Hi Jeremy...Full-time graders at PCGS are not allowed to buy and sell coins. We occassionally use part-time graders, and they are dealers who of course buy and sell coins. We have antconflict policies in place and as far as I know, no part-time grader has ever violated those rules.
