Heads up on a Franklin auction!!

With special thanks to Lucy, I would like to caution anyone thinking of taking he plunge on this auction. I recently bid on, won, recieved, reviewed, and sent this coin back for refund. While the coin is a nice coin, it is only 60% FBL.......KenLINK

The part you need to be concerned about is FULL BELL LINES?

Ken, when you returned this coin, did you perchance mention that it is far from FBL by most accepted standards?

I ask because, based on Ursabear's link, it is apparent that either you didn't mention it as the basis of your return, OR he is simply trying to BS the next bidder.

BTW, is "ratsass4u" a message or an actual bidder, if anyone know's.

Last question. What did you mean "Thanks to Lucy?" How did she help you on this deal? Just curious.

I specificall mentioned the reason for return as the coin only being 60% FBL!
Lucy helped by telling me that it was up for auction again. She is one of the people here that knew of me buying the coin.....Ken

Hopefully newbies will read this and realize that on EBAY, no one is going to give away a 53SFBL for next to nothing. This goes back to all those coins that we often see on ebay expounding claims of better grades, FBL, etc. These people are in business to make money and if they THINK they might have a winner in their hands, they're certainly not going to give it away.

    In my humble opinion.

I don't get it, PCGS does not say FBL and the seller questions it.

So you bid 5x MS65 price hoping for a giant score and don't get it so return it?

I think you've exactly got it.
That humanity at large will ever be able to dispense with artificial paradises seems unlikely. Most men and women lead lives at the worst so painful, and at the best so monotonous, poor, and limited, that the urge to escape, the longing to transcend themselves, if only for a few moments, is and always has been one of the principal appetites of the soul.

You mean the ol'saying is true? There really is no such thing as a free lunch?

Ken, I'm sure you weren't REALLY expecting anything near FBL, right?
