I'd also like to mention that the Ike dollar to me is the quintessential example of wasted numismatic space. Here you've got acres of gleeming silver fields competely devoid of stars, wreaths, mottos or other coin design filler used through the years. Seems odd.
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
I love Ike dollars and all other dollar series !!!
I also love Major Circulation Strike Type Sets, clad Washingtons ('65 to '98) and key date coins !!!!!
If ignorance is bliss, shouldn't we have more happy people ??

Regarding wasted space...
“I know some people have said that my Eisenhower head is too simple, but, what the heck, the man was plain – a simple, direct man – and that’s why people liked him. He was a simple person, and I kept it that way. I believe if I had done it over, I wouldn’t have done it any different.”

Trust me, I like Ike as well. See my icon. By the way, that is a nice coin, a little too dark but nice none-the-less. I'm surprised it got a CAM designation with the color encroaching on Ike's head like that though.
Tomaska and R&I have a bunch of rainbow toned 1974-S silver Proofs in NGC star holders on Ebay for an incredible price of $450 each.
I've got a bunch of 74-S proofs with rainbow toning. Took them right out of their original govt issue holders. They are quite easy to find with toning in the old brown packs. Nothing like Anaconda's of course but the ones that R&I have up aren't that hard to find. That red felt somehow toned the 74s but I can't find any 71s, 72s or 73s with rainbow target toning at all.
Anyone have a 71, 72 or 73 proof silver with similar toning. Just curious.

You are one seriously picky dude. But that's ok, so am i.
I thought it was good enough to buy.
By the way, your icon is too small.

Fantasize, do you have any pics of the 72s or 73s you could post. They would be extremely unique if they had the target rainbow toning. All I've found are the milky blueish hazed ones.
"By the way, your icon is too small." -- matches my ego.

I'll look to see if I have any to take pictures, as I am not a big toning fan. The few that I have seen have been over the years and I would not have pursued many that were like that.

Beautiful toning, but it doesn't quite look like a Peac*ock hoard member to me. Did you buy it as a Peac*ock or simply as a nice toned coin? Many 74S silver proofs developed nice rim toning in the Gov't package, though few as nice as yours. Curiously the 71, 72, and 73 brown box proof IKEs just developed cloudy toning in the packs. Only the 74s colored. To determine if it is a Peac*ock hoard member, it would have to be seen in person. I would be happy to look at it for you. Jim Barlow, Supercoin, James Sego and I think Braddick have also seen enough of them to be able to attribute it. Shoot me a PM if you would like me to take a look.
Cheers
Greg
