This has not stopped me from buying a coin or two from him in the past, though. He does have some nice stuff, and if you collect hard-to-find holed coins like I do, he's probably got the best selection out there (yes, some coins are desirable even with a hole in them). He sells some nice coins and exonumia, too. Just watch your wallet. The prices are often fairly steep.
Never had any problem with him, but I would take his grading with a grain of salt, and watch the bottom line. Otherwise, I wouldn't call him a crook. My transactions with him went smoothly. I don't think he's a bad guy, even if he does need glasses.
