What are the three most valuable coins struck in 1965 or later?

My response is the same as my response when asked about women's basketball.

There was a Sac dollar struck on the outer ring of the $2 Canadian coin.

There are lots of great coins struck after 1964. Not all of those destined
to be among the highest priced are listed in this thread probably. What
hasn't been much discussed are the condition rarities. Many of the high-
est grade moderns will exist in the dozens or hundreds, but there is ample
reason to believe that some will be unique and be far better than the next
highest grade. The people who work at the mint are human and occasion-
ally do very human things like attempting to make the worst possible or the
best possible coin. There exist mint sets assembled from what look like only
the best coins cherry picked from hours of production. Some of the nickels
in 1970 mint sets are two grades higher than the second best. There is a very
wide range in quality for most moderns, but with many they are usually found
in only a small part of the middle or one end of this range.

Another thing mostly omitted from this thread are errors. Coins like cents on
struck dimes, and mated pairs. There is a die cap proof half dollar. While it's true
that errors usually don't command the huge collector base necessary to attain
very high prices, it's entirely possible that this will change as the years roll by.

1964 peace dollar. It was struck in May of 1965 so it qualifies. All we have to do now is figure out how to put a value on one. image

this is a pop 2 coin and at $405 for a PCGS MS66, $12,500 would be foolish and I'll go on record with that statement.

Let's see, you also have to include the two 65sms Lincolns in 65dcam, the 66sms Lincoln in 65dcam. Then there is the 65 Jefferson in 67dcam. Those are in the 10k range.

May as well add the '66 DCam SMS Lincoln, the '65, and the '67. Probably no more than
a dozen of any of these still exist.

Oops, didn't notice two of these are in a recent post.

My favorite has long been the 1964 clad quarter. This coin does qualify
since it had to be struck in 1965 because it's on a standard clad planchet.

There are also several 1964 clad dimes.
