Highest priced coins in 1860

In the first price guide for U.S. coins, the highest prices were for Colonials. Excluding Colonials, there were only 14 non-gold, regular issue coins that were listed as selling for $10 or more. Can you name the 14 copper or silver regular issue 1793-1960 coins that were listed as being "worth" $10 or more in 1860?

Remember, people did not pay attention to mint marks in 1860.

Sinin...Gobrechts were listed as patterns. The 1792 coinage was all high price for the time, but not part of this question. The highest priced coin in the 1860 price guide was the 1792 "Experimental Cent," listed at $66.

Julian's 1851 dollar is a good guess, but what about the 52?

Edited to say that I am going to rot in hell for forgetting the 23 quarter!

To put $66 in perspective, something that cost $66 in 1860 would cost $1250 today.

I have been up all night waiting for the prices - are you still going to post them?

    1794 $1, 1804 $1, 1794 half, 1796 half, 1797 half, 1802 half dime, 1796 quarter, 1799 cent, chain cent.

Add the 1804 half dollar, in 1860 they probably thought it existed considering two 1805/4 obverse dies were made.

The 14 highest priced regular issue, non-gold coins in the first U.S. coin price guide (published in 1860) were...

    1823 25C $25
    1797 50C $23
    1852 $1 proof $17
    1796 50C $17
    1794 $1 $15
    1793 1/2C $12
    1796 1/2C $12
    1795 1C "thick die"...probably the Jefferson head? $11
    1793 Cap 1C $10
    1831 proof 1/2C $10
    1793 Chain 1C $10
    1793 Wreath 1C $10
    1804 1C $10
    1799 1C $10

The 1802 1/2 10C was listed as "extremely rare" and unpriced.

The 1804 $1 was listed as "extremely rare" and unpriced.

The 1804 50C was listed as "Under 1805-no other known"...good catch Bill, but sorry on the 1794 50C, it was only listed at $1.20.

All of the 1795 to 1860 $5 gold pieces were listed with prices ranging from $5.13 to $6.75

Excellent information! Bust halves must have been going for face value, except 1794-1807 and 1815.
