Not bad - I'd say it went for what the market is getting for it. I got the one below in PCGS MS63 for about the same price, so it's what you see in the particular coin that impresses you.
Blackhawk, if I had not been outside building a fence across my patio I would have BIN'd that coin for that price! Very nice, congrats to whoever got it.
In an insane society, a sane person will appear to be insane.
THat IS NOT the original holder. That is only a photo certificate insert and a Morgan dollar in a Capital Holder. There's no way of knowing if that's the same coin that ANACS graded. In original configuration the photo certificate insert is placed in an acetate envelope, the coin is placed in a flip, and then both are dropped into a bigger acetate envelope. The coin is pretty though.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
Dog97, it resembles the pic, although the pic looks b&w. And the coin is a tad weak for an 1887(p) - I don't think it would upgrade to a 64, but, the way the numbers seem to bounce around, who am I to say.

I own one nicely toned Morgan in a PCGS Regency holder. I bought the coin for the beautiful toning and the holder only adds to its appeal in my view.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
A dealer friend of mine just had a proof 3c silver slab PR64 at ANACS. He didn't show 'em the old photocertificate that said PR60/60.
What do you mean by "it looks gone?" As in sold?
