Here are a couple of new Jeffersons I got today - the first is a neat greenish/goldish, got that one on ebay - pretty nice luster too.
The second one is a MadMarty coin! - Very strange! Very beautiful, but very strange!
To all you nickel lovers - how do Jeffersons wind up with this kind of toning?

I think the prettiest I've seen was a set of War Nickels; pretty wild color, and very nice luster.

.......for a variety of reasons that are, of course, all tied to the composition. some is due to the chemical wash the planchets undergo, some of the streakiness is due to the alloy perhaps not being uniformly mixed, whatever the coins came in contact with after minting and whatever/however they were stored over the course of time. the silver issues should expectedly tone in a similar fashion to other silver coins and conversely the post-1964 clad coinage should expectedly tone in a similar fashion as nickel always has since they are the same composition.
i find shield and liberty nickels quite often with a very pleasing pink tone and have run across some Ike dollars and Washington quarters which look the same. someone once posted that nickel didn't tone, but i beg to differ!!!
