A MS64 selling for more than a MS66????

Why is the MS64 selling for double the MS66???
1957-D/D ANACS MS64RD DDO RPM-5 LINCOLN CENT 3009043452 $56.00
1957-D/D ANACS MS66RD DDO RPM-5 LINCOLN CENT 3009043777 $29.95

Go figure??
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Maybe it looks nicer, is a crackout candidate, or more people saw it than the other.
  • What are the start dates?Maybe that has something to do with it.

if it's an eBay auction it seems sensible that some bidders are watching the 64 to see where it ends before they snipe the 66. give us some links marty, inquiring minds want to know.

    Auction 1
    Auction 2

Course I don't like the looks of those sunglasses on number 2...

Since you're selling a couple, how much do you think a dated off-center (about 20%) cent is worth? 1999 in 66RD (too spotty to be 67)

Can't get over it. The 64 sold for double the 66. The sunglasses bother me, but if he doesn't pay, I file a non-paying bidder and re-list the coin. I picked up these coins when I was woking on my Lincoln set. Picked them up for a couple of bucks each and sent them to ANACS for the attributes. Got back 2 MS67s that look like they won't sell. If they don't I might try crossing them to PCGS.

I think it was the starting prices. The 64 was started at $9.95, and attracted a lot of interest. The 66 was started at $29.95, which kept a lot of bidders away. At least, as far as I can tell, that's the only variable in the auctions, since otherwise they're pretty much identical.

Got the paypal, thanks Jeff. If I know it was a board member I would have jacked the shipping up to at least $10!!!image
