  • end of roll, looks like to me.

I have a number of original rolls of Sacs that are starting to take on this loo, at least in the exposed portions. No telling what lies under the paper wrapper.

The composition of that coin does strange things. I have ten I cherry picked when they first came out, and put in mylar holders. Several have toned very interesting shades of blue, red and green, but not as spectacular as that one.
  • almost forgot:

I think I'll snipe that one too!

i bet the scan looks much better then the coin in hand sight seen and even if it looks great in person

if you buy this coin do not break it out of its respective holder

as then you got a coin worth one dollar!

It went to a good doctor? image
Seriously when the Sacs were first issued they were turning up with strange colors straight from the Mint.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Something about it bothers me. I can't put my finger on it, but I would pass.

Why pass? I just comes down to what you are willing to pay. If it doesn't go for huge money, why not go for it? This assumes you actually LIKE the coin, of course...

That one looks like two I recently sold on Teletrade. Suprisingly, toning like that isn't difficult on these. I think there is a bit more purple and maroon than the photo is revealing though.

Too bad about the grade?! image

  • I bought a mint-sealed roll of 2000-D Sacs some time back, I don't recall exactly ... over a year ago, anyway ... from my bank. It was the result of a conversation w/ a collector-friendly teller. He showed me the roll and pointed to the odd coloring that had started on each end coin. He said he'd opened several rolls that were (this is about a direct quote) "like that all the way through the roll". It's quite true that the metals in the Sac are reacting oddly to the environment, and that this reaction is very quick. So anyway, I bought the roll at face value and stuck it in my safe at home, still wrapped. Maybe in ten years or so I'll open it -- by that time (who knows?image) the Sacs will have turned awesome colors and I'll reap great benefits on E-Bay or its successors.
