OK you're off the hook now. If you're so sure it's good that somebody else can get it into a $750 slab maybe you should have resubmited it. Another grading fee would be chump change compared to the profit. So when is everyone gonna learn the pitfall of buying raw toned eBay coins?
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
Edited: Sinn1, my opinion is I think it's ugly. It does look washed-out on the obverse. Is it toned because it was cleaned or was it toned and then the obverse cleaned? PCGS went with "Cleaned or Whizzed" intead of "Questionable Toning" so who knows.
That isn't lost on me Russ. I'm well aware of the differences, not the least of which is the fact that relayer is a "member" of your club, and aswimmer was not.

Dwood,
If there were any relevance to the fact that he is a member of this forum, I would not have posted the thread yesterday asking about the authenticity of his coin. If I actually thought forum membership was some kind of pass, I'd have simply let the auction run it's course and said nothing.
But than you also knew that and are just entertaining yourself.
Yes Kid, I am Swimmer...I am also Russ, but please don't tell the others.
Russ, entertaining myself isn't nearly as fun as pushing your buttons. I mean, I think I could get people to pay to read this stuff!
Tell me about dipping that Registry Set someone mentioned earlier? Is it true? Were you scared (during the dipping?) Did it bump them up a grade or two? How much extra cash did you get that you would attribute directly to the dipping? Was it something cointoast made you do? What did you use for the dip?
Enquiring minds want to know!

Did Russ put "MOST OF THESE COINS HAVE BEEN DIPPED AND I GOT THEM PAST PCGS" in big red letters when he auctioned off his Kennedy resgitry set on eBay?
Wow! I never heard that one before.....Surley you must be mistaken or not have your facts straight.
Just because he exposed this (scam)coin doesn't give you the right to make unfounded accusations about Russ dipping coins and sliding them past PCGS.
I understand Russ. Sometimes the truth hurts, especially in matters of finance. I'll harbor no ill will.
Go in peace, and continue to improve. Improvement is all that any of us should strive for, no matter how good we are at what we do.

He didn't "expose" this coin. He was stalking Braddick's bids, ran across the subject coin Braddick was bidding upon and solicited opinions about the tone. He was hoping to snipe the coin from Braddick if everyone found the tone to be original end roll. Notice he wouldn't link the auction.
DCam, Toast, and dwood what is your problem! What did Russ do wrong? You guys keep making stuff up and it makes no sense. Why should you guys care about Russ's set, you cant prove he did it and his word is better than all 3 or your words so why keep being so annoying? Dont you guys have a ledge to jump off of or something?
Kid, Did we make up the web page? Did we make up the dipped set that Russ just admitted he sold?
Wait...I forgot.....I'm Russ too (damn its hard to keep up).
I think Russ' auctions are questionable, to say the least. And when he is one of the leaders of the mob whenever some faceless crook on eBay tries to scam a coin, I just find it a little hypocritical, that's all.

Did you link the auction?? No! The thread went 1 1/2 pages of posts before Braddick found it and linked the auction. Anyone can go to the thread and check.
Poor KK, his reading comprehension is below Kindergarten level. I haven't said a blessed thing about Russ' Kennedy Set. Months and months ago, I said the Kennedy DCAMs were big losers and people should sell them before they lost their shirts. He was too late. We were selling those common date coins for $32 to $36. Now they regularly sell for $15. The Populations were going through the roof and not enough collectors were coming to the hobby to buy the excess supply. Now they are dog cheap and no one can afford to "make" the coins. Maybe some day the excess supply will be absorbed. But not anytime soon!
You're right DWood. We will never forget about the website.
Hey KK.I'm not flaming Russ, I'm agreeing with him.
We need people like him to track down the evil-doers on E-Bay.
We need to appreciate his 25.5 post per day average.
We should THANK him for being logged in 17 hours per day.
While the rest of us our out with our families having fun. playing ball, going to the movies or out for a nice dinner Russ is RIGHT here protecting us!
It's comforting to know that while I'm on vacation 3 weeks a year Russ is sitting by his computer ready to pounce on the evil doers.
He should get a medal or at least our profound gratitude!

Hey DCAM,
Before you tossed out your assertion that I was "stalking" Braddick on eBay, you probably should have checked the timestamps in my thread and the auction. Doing so would have prevented you from looking so foolish:

I'm not taking sides here, but in the interest of fair play: The bid showing canceled was my SECOND bid placed. I first bid well before this Thread was generated and was then outbid. The one showing canceled was my SECOND bid placed, after I read this Thread and observed I had been outbid on the first one. Apparently eBay doesn't require a Seller who is canceling bids to cancel more than the high bid (in this case, my second one) placed. It was this Thread that had me check the auction and then notice I had been outbid on my first proxy bid.

Actually, Dwood, since the auction is closed, we'll never know that one way or the other. Pretty easy to toss out all kinds of allegations and assertions about things that cannot be demonstrated one way or the other. See DCAM's posts.
The fact is, I found the coin simply because I look at 1964 Kennedy halves. Most people around here have figured that out by now.

When I originally brought this coin up the opinions I saw from people who's opinion I respect were inconclusive.
If you liked it , that was because of the reverse so what would it matter if the obverse was cleaned?
So the "experts" in the rare coin market were confused.
Then I was exposed in a Russ thread, where the experts explained with it was or could be.
Poor Braddick just wanted to buy a coin he liked. And I wanted to sell it. It's not usually a difficult task, but thanks for all your input.
