PCGS on-site grading - 1909-s Lincoln value?

I have a 1909-s Lincoln that looks to be MS65+ RB. I'm considering taking it to Long Beach next weekend and I'm curious if anyone has ever had a coin graded by PCGS on-site. How long does it take? Do I need to show up early? I think it's worth the $65 to have it graded there and not risk the mail. Also, what is a 1909-s RB (no horizontal) worth in MS65. eBay doesn't seem to have many of these. Thanks.

Couldn't find any RB, but this 65 RD went for $675 on Teletrade.

Whenever I have submitted under the show special of $65 I have always had to wait longer than they have promised in terms of turnaround time. I suggest that you show up the first day that PCGS is there and hand them the coin immediately and then you should get it back within one or two days. If you wait longer you run the risk of having them mail it back to you and charging shipping even though you submitted it under the show special.

That's a great looking coin. I don't have a pic of mine, though mine has only 2 very small marks (using a 10x loupe), with wood grain browning. Very attractive. Maybe it has a shot at a 66? That would be nice.

That would sort of defeat my purpose. In "The Numismatist", the ad indicates same day grading. That would be more to my liking.

I agree. Unfortunately what they promise is not what they deliver.

Using a 10x loupe it looks like a normal "s". It is, however, possible that I simply don't know what I'm looking at. I don't know Lincolns, but I had a great deal on this one as a type coin. It's was given to me!

I would recommend the following for a coin of this value:
1. Bring the coin in to the show and give it to PCGS.
2. Have them grade it on the $30 tier
3. Have them mail it back to you. They send it registered mail which is the safest way of getting your coin back bar none.

The show special of up to $100 coin with 4 hour turn-around is great for very valuable coins but why on this one? This way you save the postage to PCGS.

Some dealers, if you submit through their account to PCGS at the show, get a kickback which is enough to cover the return postage.
