Heavily toned Morgan I found this evening.

Hi all. I haven't always been a big fan of Morgan dollars, but I like the toned ones. I unwrapped this one just now from ancient, crumbling tissue paper. It has superb luster, spectacular color in person (scans don't do it justice). The grade would be MS-64-ish. It looks a lot like Artificial Toning, but I assure you, the coin hasn't seen fresh air in at least thirty years. What do you think? (Warning: 58 KB)

LOL scrap the dirt off of it .. Just kidding nice coin and it would get MS63+ The only reason I say 63 is because i cant see the luster through the tone. But for somebody that likes toned its a good one.

If it's light sea green and light blue with gold and red highlights then I have one just like it in a PCGS MS65 holder. The older, green holder. As it is shown, I cannot tell anything about the color.

HMM...that is pretty cool looking. Like a coin that's been somewhere and done something; a coin that isn't afraid to get a little dirt under it's fingernails; a manly coin, not like the usual prissy rainbows we see all the time.

unnatural toning for sure. looks like scrambled eggs! probably market accpetable though.

It's just a change in color, a spot, above the "G", not a foreign substance. The coin has terrific luster, but the scanner makes it look flat. I know what you mean by an "unnatural" look to the toning, but I can tell you it looks outstanding in-hand. It's a really beautiful coin.
