I just bought signed slabs

I think it's kind of neat having the engraver sign his work. Can do without the Sacagawea model's autograph, though

I'm a little surprised they're so cheap, $25 for both, delivered.

$25 seems expensive for these to me. I am not aware that the signature really increases demand or adds value. Others might have differing opinions.

It would of cost me that much to slab two coins at ICG without the signature, so I don't think I paid a premium. But a grade would have been nice.

I have a set of New Yorks with signatures from Daniel Carr. They're special to me because I like the stuff he has done.

Additional value? I don't know. I bought mine when they first came out (don't want to say for how much

).

But still, they're in my collection, not in my coin investment selection.

Looks like he signed 10,000 each P&D. I doubt there are that many people collecting slabbed state quarters. As for autograph collectors, I've never heard of coin designers being high on anyone's list. (Although I wouldn't mind Victor David Brennor's!)

The prices PCGS MS68 statehood quarters are fetching on eBay gives me the opposite impression. But I didn't buy them for resale, I just think they're neat. And collectors seem to be obsessed with their initials, VDB, no FG, etc., so why not the whole shebang

They're really minor die varieties, otherwise.

The Nolan Ryan signed silver $'s neat too, just seems to me they'd appeal more to sports memorabilia collectors. Can't say I know much about Tom Rogers, but maybe I should, as a coin collector. Besides, when MadMarty's "pissing minuteman" quarter surpasses the 1933 Saint at auction, and KingCoin becomes president of the ANA, you'll be begging me to sell you one for a cool mill, hehe

The Nolan Ryan is the one that I want! PCGS has a signed verion of it also. That is something I want in my collection.
