I rarely get them in so I'm not good at detecting counterfeits. This one weighs right and sounds good but I know that's the be all end all. What do you think?

I am not a Trade Dollar expert but it looks bad to me.
Looks okay to me but with these images, hard to tell. It looks like a JK-4 die marriage. If you own this coin, tell me if you see a die crack between E and D (at the base of the letters) of "TRADE" and "DOLLAR", or any other die cracks. This is a IIM/IIM type that is a "legal" combo for a 77. Again, hard to tell. If you weighed it, that's a good sign.

I always defer to @keoj but it looks ok to me as well.

I don't see a die crack between those letters using a loupe.
I’m not a Trade Dollar expert, and therefore every Trade Dollar looks bad to me unless it is in a TPG holder.
My mistake, I was going on a couple of incorrect assumptions. I thought I read somewhere that the stem of the olive branch must connect to the leaves, but I guess it is not the case. And there the eagles neck feather attach to tits body looked odd, maybe that was just damage. And lastly the denticles looks so darn thick and long that it seemed more like the denticles of a 1795 DB dollar so I assumed the Trade Dollar was counterfeit. Nice to learn that I was wrong and have Keoj on the forum.
Given no die crack, that is a negative. Just not enough to make any determination remotely without physical assessment. TPG will make the call. Wish there were more tells to push it one way or another. Let a TPG make the call. Let me know how it goes. Its good to learn. Keoj
To me at least, the obverse looks heavily retooled/re-engraved.
Consider the above statement retracted.

It appears like an average genuine, albeit cleaned with baking soda back in the day, Trade dollar.
This was the best I can come up with.

Looks XF but would not procure a raw one. Wonder why it’s not slabbed?
Yeah, upon further review and looking at images of circulated 1877 trade dollars, I was embarrassingly wrong.
