Added The Missing Buffalo to my 1936/1937 Proof Sets.

Now I have acquired all 3 of these last of the Proof Buffalo nickels for inclusion into my 1936-1942 proof sets. I have been looking for the right piece for around 4 years now, and finally came across this 1936 Brilliant Proof Buffalo to complete the 3 coin set: 1936 Satin, 1936 Brilliant and 1937.
Here’s the newest addition along with the 2 I’ve purchased in the last few years.
This was just purchased last weekend at the Rochester Numismatic Association show.
Zack.

Very beautiful renditions of the Buffalo Nickel in its final days.

The 1936 Satin photo makes it look more like the brilliant format.

Is it just the photo or is there any doubt viewing it in person? (Which would not be a bad thing as the brilliant format has a higher value.)

Could not tell for certain from the TrueView as a few images look like they could almost overlap between brilliant and satin. The TrueView does look more like it could be satin. Always prefered the mirror surface Buffalo so have not paid much attention to the satin version.

It doesn’t get much better than that. Congratulations 👍

So @WinLoseWin, I’ve learned that a telltale sign of the 1936 Satin Proof Buffalo nickel, is the die scratch on the reverse that is above the buffalo, and extends across to E Pluribus Unum. Here is the reverse of my coin. A pickup point of a satin buffalo.

    Nice Buffalo Nickel proofs.

Earlier this year I picked up a raw 1937 proof Buffalo. I had it graded and here is the Trueview of that coin. It graded PF66.
