Well I can say I did it. Would I do it again? No.

Was fun but think I’d rather buy 10 complete sets blind. Was fun though . Love this set
Also a sad thought on current grading for vintage cards like this. This set is completely priced out for grading along with almost anything like it I guess. Opening a 2,000.00 box of case fresh 1979 cards I confidently have a grading pile of 0 cards from it. I mainly opened it just to see what they came like from that year is all. Sucks. 5 years ago I would have sent in 25-35 of these no problem looking for 9s or better. No not even a thought if I should send any of these in.Even If i think the bob has a chance at a 10 I still cant send it. End of rant.

It looks like the corners got better toward the end of that box at least. I hurt for you, seeing those fresh cards with corner dings. Thanks for sharing!

It seems like the star cards always have the problems.

I get you about opening these to grade. There’s just no way to make that work anymore on boxes that expensive. Especially with late 70s/early 80s with all the terrible centering. I love the 79 baseball but finding those centered is so tough.

    Super bummer.

well at least you know that the box was legit and all of the stars were in it. 79 topps football is brutal on centering i have two sets and both are off-centered.
