Check from GC for Auction Proceeds - SUPER Fast!!!!!!!

I had three coins sell on Sunday October 11th. GC cut a check three days later in California, and it arrived today at my home in Florida, on Monday October 19th.

If it was any faster, they'd have to mail the check to me before the auction ended, lol.'

They don’t have the descriptions of the other large firms, but they pay quickly. This is why I am giving them more coins. Other firms take 60 days to pay.

It would be very easy for GC to hold payment longer and collect interest on the balance, which would be pure profit for them. The fact that they pay quickly and ahead of schedule is a testament to their customer-focused business, which pays dividends in reputation benefits thanks to posts like this one.

Forget the speed of the check. How is the amount of the check? Are you happy with it? Is it what you expected?

First, it’s exactly the correct amount. But I believe you’re really asking if I’m happy with the auction result? In the case of these three coins, yes, I’m very pleased. I bought each of these three coins within the past year or two, and just recently found upgrades for each (silly me for not being more patient initially, but who knew how long it would take to upgrade the “fillers”?). Despite the relatively short holding period, my NET amount received for the three coins from GC was $133 higher than my cost of $3,035. Not much of a profit, but when I buy “fillers”, my expectation is I will NET less than I paid. I think of that loss as the “rent” I paid to have that “filler” hold that slot for me until the coin I really want for that slot comes along, whether it’s three weeks later, or five or more years later.

With that said, it doesn’t always work out this way. There are dupes I sell on GC where my NET proceeds are less than my cost. It all depends on who is looking, and if two or more collectors really want that coin (or not).

Been super fast here lately. I did have to call them a year or so ago when no check after 30 days. They sent a check the next day.

Your check arrived faster than coins I bought at the same auction. It seems like they’ve changed something with lower value package shipping recently, they’ve been using DHL even though they claim it’s USPS ground advantage. I guess it’s technically USPS last mile, but the past couple of purchases have taken over a week to arrive, while it used to be the Thursday or Friday after the auction

Ive used them multiple times now to auction off my dupes and the service has been spectacular. Plus GC is at many of the major shows, so I can drop off the coins there. Haven't sold on Ebay in years now thanks to GC.
