Looks pretty. Very nice for that era of proof.
Looks nice. May not be as nice in the future though if you keep putting it against your skin
Do you have the rest of the set?
I agree but I don't believe that's something @SanctionII would do.
Looks like obverse scratches, pass.

Good looking.

This quarter is part of a proof set I bought at a local show last month. I bought the set because of the half.
This quarter is maybe a PF64. However it is interesting because it has frosted devices (which is very, very unusual for 36-42 proof quarters). The obverse frost is very light, showing only when the quarter is tilted just so. The reverse has frost on all of the devices that is moderate to heavy on all devices except the central part of the wings.
I agree. Let's check back in a few months.
Very pretty!

- Someone, probably
PF60. The obv scratches rule it out for me.
Very pretty coin! I always enjoy your posts @SanctionII

Very nice!
Proof 65 at the most - not Cameo! But for 1942 it's a nice strike!

The 1942 quarter graded PF65. The coin looks better in hand than it does in the TrueView photo.
A toned palm print is in that coin's future.
The True View looks cartoonish.
The image is way over exposed.
Lights were positioned too low and it's probably a stop overexposed. Slightly yellow too.

These quarters are quite difficult to photograph. I don't know why but they give me more trouble than any other 36-42 proof coin to get a decent photo.

CAM Merc's are practically impossible to get right for me.

Why are they so difficult? Do you need some practice coins?
The curvature of the mirrors and reflections off slabs can make them a pain.
I have a 1939 that's wicked close to CAM but never got the designation. If you'd like me to image some of yours please PM me, I'd love to take a shot!

I think they are imaged before they are slabbed, at least that used to be the practice. Most of the imaging lately has been "eww" quality.
