Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose! Grade in on Lincoln cent

I finally sent this Lincoln in for grading. Many years ago (20+), I bought this coin and it has been in the coins for grading stash. I was reluctant thinking it might be Questionable Color. Finally, I sent it in and, sure enough, it came back QC. But...I still like the color!

Be proud of it despite the ? Color. It's on the edge of ridiculous getting that designation so many times these days. I think PCGS should designate a ? Color for every series since they seem to love it so much.

I get why there's a "QC" option when grading, but it seems like it shouldn't be the go-to choice as often as it seems to be. People are paying for a professional opinion, how about finding some professionals who can make the call?
Like so many subjective things about the appearance of coins, I have questions about "questionable color" on coins.
IMO, it's either "natural," and hence not "questionable," or it's artifical (e.g., artificial toning or cleaning), in which case it should be not "questionable." They may as well call it "bad," since "questionable" has the same effect. And, if they cannot tell wheither it's artificial, I question why they're consigning the coin to purgatory--let the buyer decide whether or not the buyer likes the color.

I agree with the grader on this coin, appears to be AT, but if they can't make the call, "questionable color" would be befitting.
Nice coin either way.
I love that coin!
To me, the variety and depth of colors show a beautiful example of what copper can look like after years of aging in a unique (unknown to us) environment.
I ‘question’ whether there’s a coin doctor who could produce anything like it.
30+ years coin shop experience (ret.) Coins, bullion, currency, scrap & interesting folks. Loved every minute!
This is one time where I'm glad that I don"t see things in black and white.

Were people ATing common date Lincoln cents 20+ years ago? Wouldn't seem to be worth the effort to me.

No. TPG graders are just confused if it’s not brown.
