This is a rare Lincoln medal by Thomas Elder, struck in 1916. "Showing the white feather" back then meant displaying cowardice. Apparently, British women would walk around the cafes in London and give out white feathers to the able-bodied men who had still not volunteered to serve their country, now in the Great War. This essentially shamed them into enlisting.
DeLorey-55, seldom seen in SILVER, colorfully toned. NGC-MS63, $750 shipped

That rainbow toning along the edge is fantastic…it really sets off the details on the reverse. Beautiful piece!
