so, I'm sure everyone saw my 4-teamer that went up in flames yesterday. wasn't even close. had 7, 9 and 11 1/2 point favorites lose outright. and Indiana, a 7.5 point fav, had to come back from 11 in the 4th to avoid the clean sweep. well, that comeback turned out to be the worst possible thing that could have happened to me.
here's why
my book gives out weekly and monthly VIP bonuses, all tied to how much you've won/lost that week/month, of course. last week (prior to that parlay) i actually won a little, so i received the weekly bare minimum ($10) right after i made that bet yesterday. no rollover, it's 10 bucks for me to do whatever with. well, guess what i decided to do? and i wasn't in a serious state when i did this, mind you. i took that $10 and an extra 43 cents (to leave my account balance at an even dollar) and created a 4-team parlay with all 4 dogs from my 300$ parlay (of all big favorites). a jocular quasi-hedge, of sorts.
well, it almost got very real with that joke
I parlayed South Carolina (getting 11 1/2.......won), Oklahoma (getting 7.5......won), Kentucky (getting 9........won), and Nebraska (getting 7.5........lost 20-17). my transaction history doesn't show the amount i could've won.......because i ultimately lost. but i do remember the payout.
i didn't post it here because a) it wasn't even my money i used to place the wager (except for the extra 43 cents), and b) i knew it stood no chance. turns out, it had more than a chance. i didn't know it at the time, but that comeback by the Hoosiers cost me......wait for it.......$2,296 & change
so close, yet so far away. but hey, makes for a great gambling anecdote!
That was the most clutch runback I have ever seen (not including music city miracle) and that he was tackled with 1 second left... I almost felt bad for the Eagles.

The grotesque swings in game form are brutal. I've contemplated how to make a profit off that, but can't seem to come up with anything that works consistently.
Ya come up with an idea, it hits three or four straight for a nice profit. Thinking ya discovered the holy grail. Then as sure as green apples, ya lose three or four in a row doing the exact same thing.
