Leave in Case or Breakout for Grading

Picked up this 1882-CC years ago. Is it better to leave it in the plastic case the mint sold it in or should I break it out and have it graded? Or will the grading house break it out if it's worthwhile to grade? And I have the cardboard case that contains President Nixon's statement about the importance of these coins.

The GSA holder helps authenticate and are avidly sought by some collectors. I would not break it out, but I agree that it is not much upside on having it graded given that appears to fall in the low mint state range.

I would not grade it, standard BU coin. Definitely best in the GSA holder.

Maybe he doesn’t want to sell it and/or he doesn’t want to buy another one.

    You have a point.
I was just throwing it out there. I realize I went off topic.....
It has a nice die clash on the reverse and possibly one on the obverse.
Most 1882CC Morgans have date doubling and some good VAMS.

Some companies will grade it in this holder. But it's not going to up the value by very much.

Are you aware that the coin can be left in the case and graded? However, agree that grading it will likely not increase its value.

Echoing what has been said, leave it in that GSA case, if you really want it graded all the major grading companies will grade it as is, here is an example graded by NGC.

And here is the PCGS version. They encapsulate the case in an oversized holder.
