I always wondered if anyone else has one of these silver proof sets with a die cracked nickel. I have two of them.

Have a good day, Gary

You don't have one?
The OP is a master baiter.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Very cool error.
Are die cracks rare on proof coins and do they add much value?

What bait did you take?

He's been on a crusade against "clickbait" thread titles and I agree with him.

The bait of a vague thread title that doesn’t let readers know what its subject is.

That isn’t bait, it’s just a vague thread title. No one is required to click on it.
Superb collections are built more by omission than by addition.

Oh okay, now I get it. Yes, you should always put the date and type in the title of the thread.

I'm pretty sure @Catbert is required to click on it.

They should get a grip and fix it 🙄
I always enjoyed seeing "real" mint errors in mint and proof sets... And even packaging and labeling errors. I have several of both.
If one likes that sort of thing (and I do) it, (in my opinion) adds value to the sets.

Look for the Close AM reverse as well.
No, click bait would involve some supposedly sexy person, for example - a subject that arouses specific curiosity and interest. A vague subject may arouse a more casual curiosity without up-front interest, and in my view doesn't qualify as "bait".

Maybe I'm just thinking more simply, like a fish.

I too am guilty of posting a so called clickbait thread recently (the thread was about a photo of a 1936 proof set in OGP).
I was publicly and suitably castigated (causing me to change the title of my thread to state the topic of the thread was a 1936 proof set).
Since then I have been distraught over my error/transgression.
So much so I have not been myself; am in dire need of a way to purge myself of crushing guilt; and am in dire need of a way to expiate my sin.
Any suggestions?
P.S. Have fun with your coins.
One suggestion quickly comes to mind - give away the object of the offending clickbait title - the 1936 Proof set.
Doing so might be a bit painful for a while. But it would all-but-guarantee that you won’t repeat your offense and thus, serve as an extremely valuable lesson.
I’ll message you with my shipping address and you’re welcome.

"I plead Guilty!"

Thinking... 🤔
We all been guilty of this, at least once.
No big deal, no?
Oh, to stay with OP's thread.
I too, have many "Wartime" Nickels with awesome die cracks!
But not in original holders.
One has the die crack from North to South.
I love 'em.

Mr. Feld.
The object you mentioned is only a photograph of the 1936 proof set in OGP and not the proof set itself. I found that photograph online. The photograph was posted in 2020 on another Coin Forum by the person who inherited the proof set. I have no knowledge of the current location of the proof set or of who owns it.
I can only provide you with the photograph (posted below). No need to send me your shipping address.
nice find
😀Touché !

I kind of like click bait titles. Maybe with some creative ones Numismatic News or Coin World will hire me freelance to write articles online for them to grab attention. I would have fun with it...

I thought we were going here .............

"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
A better title would be "1986-s proof set with die crack in nickel".
