Did you sell the set? I see it is retired now.

Hi Ken,
I retired my remumc full band mercury dime sets a few weeks ago & have sold a few coins to friends here on the registry. Just got to the point where any upgrade was going to cost $20K+, & honestly, it just wasn't fun any more. Two of my dimes are currently for sale at Great Collections, 45 micro S in 68FB & 45 in 66+FB, with a couple more coming soon, 16-D in 64FB CAC & 42/41 in 64FB. I'll be selling off the set over the next couple years, If there's anything that interest you, let me know.
Regards,
Wayne

I can understand why you stopped. I observed your set frequently because I always liked how you selected your coins. Almost all were lightly toned and I thought you had done an amazing job of picking out matching and complementing coins. It's a shame to see it go but I expect all the coins will go to good homes.
Is there a link to the retired set? I would like to take a look.
Superb collections are built more by omission than by addition.
Here ya go!

Thanks Mark! I enjoyed the journey, had some fun, & met some nice fellow collectors here. I just got bored when it got to the point I couldn't afford to upgrade anything anymore. Think I'll sell some dimes, buy a piece of land, & build me a shop to work on my antique vehicles.

Not many of the Mercury dime sets from 2001 are still around. How many remember the mercateer t-shirts?
As you probably well remember PT, I was the one who had those shirts made!
Didn't realize I had been collecting that long!!!
Retired at #8 all time, pretty good for a poor boy. 25 pop tops, several of which I made. 19 more with only one higher, & we all pretty much know who has those.
I have proofs also, here's a link to those.

Cool set. Very well done!
Pat, I was a collector of Mercs at the time but then I moved my energy to commemoratives. I've about maxed out that collection at #3 for the complete set because there is no way I'll ever go higher. Plus I expect with the sale of a top set--#1--that others will overtake me. However, I am now interested in Mercs again (and a few other sets) so I hope to be adding to my Mercs over the next years.
I look forward to seeing you back into Merc's again
Beautiful Mercury dimes. Im wondering if I could afford to buy one of your common dates.
I admire collectors who search for the best.
