The Last of the Local Dealers has Passed on.

Sorry to say Arthur Knight has died. He had a shop in Gary Indiana near Jacob Hoogeveen's shop back in '72 before moving to downtown Hobart. He always stocked an eclectic assortment of coins and supplies along with stamps and never shied away from a fair deal. There were many shops in the region (still are) but the original proprietors are gone now leaving a new generation. Arthur was a good guy and never seemed to have a bad word for anyone. RIP.

Was not fortunate enough to have met him, but truly offer my condolences to his family.

I never saw him at any shows but I'd occasionally see him in shops.

I never made it to his shop. Always intended to go.

I have visited his shop several times, usually was able to find something. His health had been up and down for a while, but he always seemed to bounce back. It's sad for us locally, as he has done a lot of business in the area for a long time. He was a fixture around here and will be missed.
