Patriots are favored by -8.5 against the Raiders? I thought the Raiders might be a slight favorite in this game on Sunday? I'm very rarely off on a line by this much. Not sure how the bookie computer came up with this?
Perhaps the Raiders suffered some key injuries? I'll have to investigate this further
That game is 2 weeks away but it does seem like a crazy line.
You're right. Looking ahead on the ESPN website, I accidentally clicked week 5 instead of week 4.
I'll have to ask my doc to increase the dose on the Alzheimers medicine. 😂
normally we would've kicked a gimme FG from the 3 to make it a 2-score game with our 3rd-stringer in, but we knew their HC is as big of an idiot as ours and we'd be back down there again in 30 minutes

Between the players, refs and coaches and the stupid or uncalled for stuff that happens in these games as much of a bettor that I am I hardly ever put money on the outcome of the game
It's just diabolical watching a coach or ref lose a winnable game for you

did you see what Trevor Lawrence did yesterday?
bets were literally refunded because of his antics
it is out of control from all angles
yet we can't help ourselves
if we knew for a fact that games were being thrown, we'd still park money in an attempt to figure it out

I was told by a buddy that there were millions in bets on Lawrence to score a TD, it was heavily bet
The fact that he did that with 8 + minutes to go in the games and acted like he forgot how much time was left was unreasonably questionable, it was completely uncalled for what he did there

Why did the Eagles even show up tonight? 😒
Don’t worry the bears coach is in the process of losing this game for Chicago. Turns down 3 points to make it a two score game. 😂😂
My mistake Steve… I didn’t realize the Eagles suck so bad. Looks like a good time for a when does Sirianni get fired thread.
Worst game, for a number of reasons, I've seen the Eagles play in quite some time.
I think the players and coaches may have figured it would be easy pickins with Keenum in there. That type of attitude in the NFL, often gets you slaughtered. Which is what happened tonight.
One of my best friends, fraternity roommate in college, I was in his wedding, he grew-up in the middle of PA, so didn't have allegiance to any PA team because each one was hundreds of miles away. He became a fan of the players he liked on a particular team, which happened to be the Royals and the Bears. To this day, he remains a fan of both those teams.
He just sent me an email with a Bears headline. I know it's gonna contain some very nasty smack. I don't feel like opening it until tomorrow sometime, then I'll receive my punishment. LOL
normally a post like this would be cause for removal from my Christmas card list, but because you are a golf aficionado, i grant you a pass
😁
Looks like I totally misread your bet. When I made that post it was 16-0 and saw your under play was 51.5. Since Denver looked terrible just assumed the under for you would be a winner hence the go cash your ticket. But you had the Phil game in there as well.
No offense intended or sarcasm. Meant well, as I do for all of us gamblers here.
Must be the radiation treatments.

Can you bet on when Nike gets kicked out of the Dow 30?
Has to be a sure thing now. Their stock has been trash for several years and now major brokerage firms are saying sell.

that was absolutely a flippant remark by me
it wouldn't have mattered it LA & Denver had combined for a negative 10 points, because i needed Philadelphia +21 for the other leg 💩

I wasn’t going to bet on any BB playoff games but the last 3 days of football have been brutal for me so why not. Had the Eagles ML last night and they didn’t even show up for the game.
And Steve congrats on that Phillies win yesterday. And the two biggest stars for them…. Schwarber and Harper…. came through big time as well as Bohm who I think hit the dinger in the tenth.
In contrast the Cubs best hitters, PCA and Bregman didn’t do squat for them and they made a quick exit from the playoffs.

The odds say it's basically a pick-em game tonight.
If you bet enough games you will get run over eventually
Whenever I come off a break, or when being selective, my bankroll usually advances. However the "problem" is when I get hot, I get cocky and begin playing too many marginal games, that I think since I'm hot, I'll win the games anyway. Even in the moment, I realize what I'm doing isn't disciplined, but I'm in heat, and foolishly do it anyway.
It's interesting because I have no problem staying disciplined in business, stock market, collectibles flipping and investing, and even poker. Even in my personal habits such as a very healthy diet, I manage to stay disciplined. But sports betting, I think I'm getting better at it, but still not at the discipline level I need to be.
I probably should just quit trying, but I like sports too much, and like the challenge of trying to beat the bookie's computer.

IMO you have done yourself really good with it, meaning I think you started with a low number bankroll -$300-$500?
Your wagers are typically low risk with some reward, and plugging along like you have and taken a break then jumping back in the same way I'd say your doing just fine
It's all about discipline in regards to losing what you can afford, I don't know your financial situation but I'd be willing to bet you could dust that $500 bankroll and it wouldn't mean a thing really.
Sports betting is not to be taken lightly because any one of us can let the wheels fall off and chase losses into a bad weekend, come Monday AM it's like what the heck did I just do???
We want to avoid that lol
I've blown through my entire expendable money in a weekend a few times and it sucks but that's where discipline comes in, not once did I dig into savings to push my luck to recoup losses, I punish myself by not betting until I get paid and reload the expendable income then go back to battle.
Have fun, and don't stress about having fun with Expendable income

Paul - as always you make excellent points. Yes, things are going very well, no complaints at all.
If I do quit as mentioned, it won't be from losing too much money. It would only be from finally figuring it can't be beat. At least not by me. Then I'll simply bow-out, and just continue on as a sports fan, and of course enjoy our great hobby. 😊

It just doesn't even surprise me anymore, they literally should just do away with punters and kickers at this point lol
I almost couldn't believe it.
Sure is a lotta ugly chit going on out there.
At what point in their careers do football coaches either finally understand or idiotically forget that football is a game of momentum?
You're right. Looking ahead on the ESPN website, I accidentally clicked week 5 instead of week 4.
I'll have to ask my doc to increase the dose on the Alzheimers medicine. 😂
Lol they put the Red Rifle in to throw a pick, rather than pound Barkley 3 times
That's almost as shocking as Andy Dalton still being in the league
LOL the Eagles deserve that turnover
I knew I shouldn't have bet this dam game.
If I had any brains, I'd cash out for a loss, and get it over with.
I feel like I'm watching a pee-wee league coached football game out there. 😛
What a total waste of 73 yards of Barkley rushing.
The Eagles coaches should be ashamed of themselves right now.
Its honestly embarrassing watching Siriani outcoach himself there
Hopefully Hurts gets back in there

The book has the game at -2.5 Eagles right now.
Their computer must be drunk.
If I can pull this game out, I solemnly swear that I will not use profanity or be with any wild women for a 24 hour period, to show my gratitude.
The Eagles are very much in this game, winning by a FG doesn't seem unrealistic at all
Eagles 24
Bears 20

I saw the writing on the wall and got this in just before it dropped to -150.
Possibly the easiest sweat free bet I've made
@perkdog
beautiful!!

Tuesday 2:00 game:
Phillies ML with 2 runs early win thing
Tuesday 8:00 game
Red Sox ML with 30% boost
I'm playing all the 4 MLB dogs on Tuesday, as previously mentioned.
Still have 2 games to play, but the only boost left has to be live, 50% boost.
So I'll have to wait and choose which dog to apply that boost. Then I'll play the other remaining one.
Worst game, for a number of reasons, I've seen the Eagles play in quite some time.

Both teams last night did every they could to ensure the under was covered.

100%. Every time I think I have a "can't-miss" lock, some random turnover or backdoor cover completely ruins the card.

The book offered a nice profit boost on the WNBA, the Fever were playing, so I figured why not?
My girls on the Fever never let me down. Easy double digit win. 😊
I’ve got a no sweat and bonus bet to use.

I really need to win some of these bets…. times are getting tough for me in my old age.

I'll second that. Didn't do very well with the week's NFL games, and lost 3 outa 4 MLB games yesterday.
If it wasn't for killing college football last Saturday, I'd be begging for quarters on South Street right now.
One weird thing, lately I've been hitting player props at close to a 100% ratio. And I'm not even sure why? LOL
One thing that hisses myself off a bit, I've had some nice profit boosts wasted on losers. That makes it sting even more.

You've Been Boosted To Level 2! 🙌
Above email message from the book. Greatest honor of my life. 😂
They must have very low standards for "Level 2" because I don't even bet that much. 😂
$5 parlay+2.5 Cleveland, over 38 Let's see if the baseball fever/karma can migrate to the Browns.
Over was changed to 38 when got the bet in.
The Phillies came through for me yesterday…. so today I switch sides and go with the Braves. 😂

Bankroll was close to $700 not too long ago.
They giveth then they taketh away. 💸
And Steve congrats on that Phillies win yesterday. And the two biggest stars for them…. Schwarber and Harper…. came through big time as well as Bohm who I think hit the dinger in the tenth.

Win or lose. at +139 that's a heckuva good value.
Mine was over $4600 and now it's at roughly $1200
