You could go to your bank and ask for a couple rolls of dimes, etc, and see if ya get any that way. Perhaps get lucky and there's some silver in there.

Yeah I might go to my bank and ask if they have those rolls specifically. Get them for face value that way instead of paying a premium on eBay. They just look cool and it’s a one year thing for the sesquicentennial year so I would like to have some. The half dollars and quarters are nice also and the quarters actually have 5 different designs.

Beautiful - also had a no-sweat bet for Colts +6.5. I just left it at +6.5 for the better odds figuring if I lose it, I get another chance. But the win is much better.

You're handling it right, taking a break. I think I've told this story before about someone I knew well at the track, who lost 30k one weekend, and he could ill afford it. Haven't seen him in over 20 years as I no longer go to the track. But last time I saw him, he had set-up a payment plan with the book, and was struggling very hard to pay it back. Just a bad feeling it may not have ended well.

I wished he had taken a break, rather than Martingale his bets trying to get even. The book he used was the type who would offer high credit lines within reason. I think you know what I'm talking about.

Emotionally I want to grab 5k and throw it on something after a weekend of near misses and losing every bet but on tilt is where you usually get really hurt

I know we mention this type of post now and then but typing it out here always gives me good reminders not be stupid

Right now I'm totally fine about a $1200 loss weekend, if it was $5000 or $10000+ I'd be pretty upset at myself right now as I'm reflecting on the losing bets I made all weekend!

Paul - I've known ya from this forum for a long time. In no way, shape, or form was I worried about you. I'm sure you'll be okay.

That being said, what many may not realize, is that the approximate poster to lurker ratio on internet forums is historically around 20 to one. So on the average, for someone posting here, there are around 20 others who just read the posts, and never actually make a post. They may never even officially join the forum.

I think all of us here, root for each other to win, and enjoy helping others. That was the premise of my post.

You'll be back. You've come so dam close to winning one, if not a number of monster parlays. They gotta start hitting sooner or later. You're just way too knowledgeable of a sports fan for that not to happen.

Bottom line - you're certainly overall doing something right, as the graph you posted shows some nice positive money. 😊

Couple of rear end frostas from the weekend

I needed Indiana to score 42 against that cupcake but they decided not to play football in the first half so I missed that number by 4 points and missed out on a $1000 pay day

Chambliss for Ole Miss couldn't run the ball all of a sudden so him not getting 30 yards on the ground cost me $1200 pay our

Jacoby Brissett not throwing for 180 yards cost me a $795 winner

Jordan Love not throwing for 180 cost me a $1100 winner

DK is phenomenal with this, I remember losing a player in the first quarter and my bet would be ruined so this was one of the best things to come along

I think there is a 3% fee on Fan Duel to get this coverage, not sure

This might just be coincidental, but I had an excellent three days of football, and it seems every time that happens, the bookie bastige floods me with all sorts of "rewards", because they likely can't stand it when somebody wins money off them.

The times this summer when I was floundering trying to pick a dam MLB winner, hardly a dam peep out of them with a dam reward. Mainly just a meager profit boost offer of 20% or 25% for a player HR when the bastige is grabbing probably around 25% to 40% juice on that prop anyway.

They also just sent me a 50% profit boost on MLB, and I haven't bet a MLB game in around three weeks. They have no mercy. 😐

Not a bad idea. Dodgers are favored as expected. But the Brewers certainly getting their share of love from the books as a second favorite.

I've been thinking about betting against the Dodgers in the playoffs, but may wait until they win a series or two, and the public over bets them. Still a strong team, and who knows, they could go all the way again. However I can't see them being a good betting value in doing so.

Good thinking on that. Might as well play the dog, the way I'm looking at it. I haven't looked at yet for any "max bet" allowed, but the $5 max wouldn't surprise me. This offer places the wager way in the bettor's favor.

Off topic again… I had to deposit some checks for my mom so I asked about the new dimes. They would have to order them and they would cost me $27.95 per roll! 😱😱
These are 50 coin or $5 rolls. I didn’t even know banks could charge over face value. I can get them for possibly $8 - $10 per roll on eBay depending on bulk savings. No wonder banks make so much money.

Many years ago, I'm dating this nice girl for around six months, she was an assistant manager at a local bank branch. Anyway she invites me to go with her to the bank's Christmas holiday party at a high class restaurant. Long story short - probably half of the conversation between everyone was about how "they" were scamming, although they didn't use that word, especially the elderly into placing their regular savings into more speculative type accounts. For which the bank employees received a commission for doing so. I really, really, really hate those who take advantage of the elderly, and I really hate scammers. To me this was like a scam of sorts, and I'm sitting there listening to this BS and getting steamed. My girlfriend knew how much I hated chit like this, she had to be aware of it, but probably figured at a Christmas party it wasn't going to be any topic of conversation. But I sat there quiet, like a good little boy, and didn't say anything about that. As soon as we got in my car after the party, she profusely apologized to me for their behavior. No problem, it is what it is, but I never forgot that event which illustrates at least somewhat as to what banks are about.
