1963 25C FS-901a (Space Between Arrows and Leaf) appears to be the Reverse Die from 1962 25C FS-901

I think this observation deserves it's own thread...

It appears the 1963 FS-901a is the 1962 FS-901 reverse die after heavy lapping.

The overlap of die markers seems quite strong (to me). In addition to the ones plated below, I see about half dozen additional markers. You can open the high resolutions photos and compare yourself. I'm pretty sure this is it, but I'm curious what the forum will have to nay... I mean say!

The logic makes sense, too – (#1) 1962 is a low mintage year for the high relief art business strike quarters, (#2) later stages of the 1962 reverse die show significant pitting and chips, (#3) the features on the 1963 FS-901a are clearly caused by heavy die lapping (i.e. to remove pits and chips), (#4) the 1963 FS-901a reverse die does not match the "normal" 1963 FS-901 reverse die...

I do not have many 1962 LDS reverse examples -- the LDS 1962 FS-901 (pitting / chip under A of RICA) seems to be somewhat scarce. I am hoping forum members can share their LDS 1962 FS-901 for additional sample set.

    I have several more of these 1963 FS-901a to image. They tend to come 2-3 per roll, for the rolls that they're in. Definitely scarce. I wish TPGS would put the cert numbers at the bottom of the high res photos.

    This is the only other 1962 reverse die with those markers that I have imaged. The toning largely obscures. The chip under the A in RICA is not quite developed yet, either, but the pit and the field chip are present.

    Please post LDS 1962 25C FS-901. Look for the chip under the A in RICA.

    Would this be the same app that you revealed earlier at a different web address? Please forgive me for not clicking on either of those links. ;)

    That said, I think your attempt to build a coin app is likely to keep you engaged with your Type B quarter fantasy projects, which would cause further harm.

    That would make sense... The Eagle's neck is skinnier on the FS-901a too.
