About 20 years ago, I worked out a deal with then PSA customer service rep Roy Alcala to grade cards valued under $100 at $5 each so long as each submission was a minimum of 300 cards. So I eventually graded every card I owned for all my completed BB sets from 1953 through 1967 and my stars from 1968-72 and all my FB sets from 1948-1972. Thank God I did this. The new standard $60 fee is the death knell for the registry sets. How a business filled with incompetence, arrogance and greed not only survives but continues to grow is beyond comprehension.

Beckett is scheduled to lift the temporary pause on its lower-tier Base and Standard grading submissions on Sept 15.
Beckett's website has been down since Sept 9. Rumors flying around that it's another cyberattack ransomware attack.
Who knows? We'll see if they're able to lift the pause on schedule, and what the price will be.

Then I started wondering about Burbank Cards who I think exclusively deals through Beckett Marketplace not being able to sell any cards for 5 days, so far.

You can pretty much drop off your cards just about anywhere they handle collectibles or sports related clutter and a helpful staff member will gladly take your valuable items and carefully package and ship them off to be graded for you. Sounds delightful. I'm waiting for an all inclusive experience where I can pump my gas, shop for my groceries and edibles, get a dental checkup and cleaning, a dog grooming, and drop off my cards. THAT would be awesome.

Wouldn’t it be lovely, for the registry, if PSA would offer a one to one reholder option for SGC to PSA maintaining the same grade. It’ll never happen but would be nice.

I have had MUCH better luck cracking out all previously graded cards and then submitting to PSA, whether SGC, Beckett, or whatever. Just my personal experience. PSA will do whatever it takes to absolutely maximize the bottom-line. Customer desires or demands are sometimes a means to this end, but certainly not top of mind.

PSA will do whatever it takes to absolutely maximize the bottom-line. Customer desires or demands are sometimes a means to this end, but certainly not top of mind.
Thanks for the feedback. I have an SGC 10 of a #/500 Kobe Bryant card that PSA has a POP 14 of 10's. . .was considering submitting it. . .need to do some more homework.
