Unofficially i see it as 7 overs,7 unders.
8 over, 6 under
i had my eyes on Chi-Car (96), Buf-Hou (67), Det-N.O. (61), GB-Min (61)
suffice to say i didn't see many punts today

Maria Taylor just said at half that it's the highest scoring week 1 since the 1970 NFL-AFL merger

I’ve got a no sweat bet for tomorrow. If I lose I get $25 back in the form of a bonus bet. Chiefs moneyline and both QB’s over 200 yards.

Same bet here except a 50% boost.

I'm actually embarrassed I put this in

Welcome softparade and nice wagers’ on the Giants. 🥳
If I remember correctly you collect 1978 topps baseball. Great set I love the Eddie Murray rookie card.2 -
Can you place a bet on what will happen first…. We get a $5,000 check in the mail or AI kills us?

we're all aware of the financial aspect associated with gambling, but have you guys ever thought about the number of years we shave off our lives with some of these games?
case in point: Lions vs Saints yesterday
middle of the third quarter, Detroit up 21-0. dominating the game. i wholeheartedly believe that if i had not tied the Lions into a tease me, they would have won by 6 touchdowns. but because i did, it was time to royally mess with galaxy. gambling Gods: "let's see if we can induce a brain aneurysm or something."
New Orleans blows down the field and scores. 21-7. not optimal, but i wasn't ready to staple my eyes shut just yet. 4:27 left in the 3rd.
Detroit goes 3 & out. burned an entire 67 seconds off the clock in doing so. i thought to myself, i don't think i like where this is headed.
New Orleans gets the ball back, and voila! they blew down the field & housed another one. 21-14. still the 3rd quarter, 28 seconds left. during the commercial break i went searching for a jar of vaseline.
Detroit gets the ball back, but this time they stepped up their game: they made one first down before they punted the ball back to New Orleans. i took my pants off.
the Saints, for seemingly the 100th time in the past half hour, blew down the field again like the Lions were playing with 5 guys on defense. they get to the DET 10, then a minor miracle happened: the Lions forced a chip-shot FG. 21-17 with half of the 4th still left to play. i had no pants on and a big ass jar of vaseline in one hand, but i needed something very breakable to go in the other.
Detroit gets the ball back. again, 21-17. if what happened before was a minor miracle, this was a major one: they actually mounted a drive and blazed down the field themselves. with less than 5 minutes left in the game, Detroit had 1st & goal at the NO 1. for all intents and purposes, i was 36 inches away from winning that leg of my tease me. i'm going to be completely honest with you guys: when a number of adverse things in a row happens to you to reach that point, no part of you is confident. i truly thought they were going to find a way to extract defeat from the jaws of victory. i didn't know how, but i had faith in them. oh, here's how they can do it: someone jackass lineman for the Lions could molest a Saints player and draw a flag. that's precisely what happened. i was legit prepared to break something at that point, because i was more convinced than ever that i knew how this story was going to play out. sure enough, that holding call limited them to a FG.
24-17 with 2:32 left.
you're in good shape galaxy, why you trippin?
i'll tell you why. because i've been gambling for eons and i've seen how this nightmare plays out more times than dollars i've lost since the inception of this thread, that's why. no part of me -- i repeat -- no part of me was remotely confident in the Lions putting that game away.
New Orleans gets the ball back, down 7. again, just over 2 mins left in the game. i don't know how this happened, but somehow someway the Lions forced a 4th & 12 at the New Orleans 23 with 1:55 remaining. once again, i was at the doorstep of victory. once again, i k-n-e-w that door was not going to open. Detroit's defense did not let me down. they allowed a 15-yard completion to keep the drive & the game alive. meanwhile, i was trying to open a jar of vaseline while bending over.
48 seconds later, New Orleans scored to tie the game. if you looked up the definition of sieve in the dictionary, you would have seen a picture of every member of the Detroit Lions defense. 24-24. 67 seconds left.
Detroit gets the ball back with an opportunity to prevent me from having a massive stroke while simultaneously being viciously raped. what do you think they did? i'll give you 3 guesses, and the first two don't count. a grand total of 40 seconds later, New Orleans had the ball again because the Lions ran three plays and punted it back to them.
27 seconds left. Saints with the ball. at this point, my head is spinning like a top. from down 0-21 with a handful of minutes left in the 3rd to having the ball and a chance to win the game. nothing about it felt like real life.
first play, Travis Etienne busts one for 18. of course he did. 21 seconds left, New Orleans calls timeout. next play, Tyler Shough completes a pass for 18 yards to the Detroit 44. in addition to my head spinning, my vision started to blur because i couldn't believe what i was watching. i legit could not comprehend that the Detroit Lions had not one player who could make a play to save them from themselves. Shough spikes the ball with 7 seconds left. next play, he tried to get them closer for a game-winning FG attempt, but threw an incompletion. with 2 seconds left, Daniel Carlson trots out on the field to put me out of my misery.
no lie -- i really wanted him to make it. just take my 100$ and allow me to live. that's all i want now. just drill that 62-yarder.
he missed. OT.
why i continued to watch that game after everything i had just witnessed and endured is something i cannot answer. but i did anyway. best explanation i can give is that it was a train wreck of epic proportions i just couldn't pass up ogling. i knew in my heart of hearts there was more fun to come. i was right.
Detroit gets the ball to start OT. they decided to execute to a tee and score a touchdown. the only plausible reason they did that was to simply jack with me some more. even up 7, my level of confidence had not moved one iota from none.
31-24. New Orleans gets their crack with 5:04 left. i swear to you guys, this was the thought i had........"please, please stop the 2-point conversion when they score." i knew the last chapter of the book before i got there. i had just watched the Detroit Lions' defense turn Tyler Shough into Drew Brees on steroids for the past quarter plus, and anything different moving forward wouldn't have made a lick of sense.
least surprising thing you'll read all week: the Saints moved at warp speed down the field and scored a TD. oh, you want a 2-point conversion for all the marbles, galaxy? ask and ye shall receive.
there i was, no pants on, bent over, completely lubed up. but right before the snap, i was overcome by the weirdest sensation. i wanted the Saints to convert it, but for a different reason. i was more than willing to eat a benjamin for the entire Detroit Lions organization to feel like a mack truck had just flattened their dog. it was an absolute pathetic display of football by a professional team for an extended period of time. they had no business winning that game. they didn't deserve it. it's as if someone handed the Lions a piece of paper and said, "ok, you're up 21-0 with 20 minutes left. in order to lose this game, you have to do these 25 things. if you do 24 of them, you'll still win."
well, they did 24.95 of them. they stuck in tampons, closed their eyes and prevented the Saints from converting the 2-pointer.
i lowered my life expectancy by 5 years keeping up with one leg of a teaser. and it's only week 1. it's gonna be a great season. oh, and to the Detroit Lions, i have a couple of things to say. first, thanks for helping me win 80 freaking dollars. i appreciate it. second, go **** yourselves.

Without question this is the best after action report I've ever read
Mind you as a Sergeant leading an emergency response team into some very chaotic and dangerous situations in a jail no report I can think of comes close to describing a situation better than this .
Again this is the best after action report I've ever read, I owe you for this.
I've read it three times and enjoyed it more each time 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

As you know being a regular in this thread I like you have invented new ways to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory and honestly I am a professional at just looking in disbelief at a bet that is utterly destroyed over a single yard, a penalty, a coach being an idiot, or just losing because I just lost by something that happened that shouldn't have.
I accept it and don't get all that mad aside from that occasional yelling of WTF or launching a beer can at the wall in my man town or just slipping out the back door and taking a little walk in my back yard while my buddies are in disbelief of what just happened in a game
I justify it by it's what I freaking like to do, I love to bet and that's it, I know it's completely irrational to believe it's a winning proposition but I don't care, there is no action like sports betting.
Poker, casino or the track action doesn't compare to being glued to a game on tv or watching it play out on my phone that I got money invested in, nothing compares to it in my book.
The only key to it is not letting it run your life and putting yourself in a bad financial spot, if you can do that and cover everything else that is important first then screw it, pay for your enjoyment, that's how I look at it.
We are a different breed lol

Last bet was that posted Dodgers game. Dodgers leading 3-0, pitcher had a no hitter going into the top of the fifth with two outs. I had around 95% profit, cash-out equity and strongly considered it, especially the way the Dodgers have blown leads for me this season. Of course I didn't want to give the book that 5%.
Dodgers wind-up losing the game in extra innings. Too irritating to describe. Probably the worst bad beat of all time for me. Sticks in my craw more than any other. Didn't even have much money on it, but that dam game broke me, for now.
Hope everyone is doing well, and winning!

Knew in 3rd quarter my over 44 was dead. Both teams settled for FGs deep in opponents territory. Kelce tackled on about 8 yard line after a breakaway run.
Just needed 1 of those 2 drives to score a TD for the over.
Bad beats are alive and well.Successful transactions:Tookybandit. "Everyone is equal, some are more equal than others".0 -
If you bet $100 on every Dodgers game this season (using DK lines) you would be down $1,005. Bet on the Brewers and you would be up $1,027.

Once KC hit that final first down that was it. And even if they were held to fourth down I don't think they would of kicked the FG being they had Denver in their territory. So run it on 4th turn ball over. They had the 21 point cushion. But would of been nice if the 4th down came up to see the choice of play.

After yesterday when neither QB threw for 200+ yards I’m done with player props. If I had just bet KC moneyline it would have been a low anxiety win. 😩

Player Prop bets are not for the faint of heart, on paper they look so easy and the odds stack up when you group a bunch of players but there always has to be one guy like Jared Goff who can't throw for an easy 220 against the Saints to cost you money

Perk… it didn’t bother me much being a Chiefs fan I was just elated they kicked the Broncos butts.
Shortly before the game started I read an article I think it was on yahoo and the guy said if you have Kenneth Walker on your fantasy team don’t start him keep him on your reserves or whatever. In fact he said that’s exactly what he was going to do. His reasoning was it was his first game with KC so they would break him in slowly and also Denver was great against the run last year. Boy was he wrong. Walker had to have racked up a ton of points with the yardage and TD. 😂1 -

To add to my frustration last night I came one push of the submit button on Walker 150+ Rushing yards which would have got me a few hundred but instead I put it on Bryant to get 8 catches, he had 4 by midway through the second quarter and that's how many he ended up with 😡

Perk it was still in the first half and I got an offer from DK for Walker to finish 100+ yards rushing and I didn’t do it. That would have been an easy win. And I think at that point he had 35-40 yards and the offer was +160.

i'm going to talk through this one, and i'm sure that revelation will provide darin great excitement
leg 1: Josh Allen just hung 36 on the NFL's best defense from 2025 without a defensive touchdown. now he goes up against a defensive unit that didn't know their asses from a hole in the ground last week against the Saints. and the Bills gave up 31 to the Texans and the Lions scored 31 themselves. if there aren't a ton of points scored in this game, i'm donating my brain to no one, ever.
leg 2: i've already won money on an opposing team going into Lubbock to play the Red Raiders this season. my school was getting 45.5 and lost by 23 a few weeks ago. plus, do you know the name of Texas Tech's house? GALAXY STADIUM.
leg 3: if Philadelphia loses to the Tennessee Testes after they just lost by 13 to the Jets while pumping out a grand total of 195 yards, i'm publicly renouncing stevek's fandom for him

Hadn't bet on anything or even considered it, since that mentioned September 2nd game debacle with the Dodgers. I just saw where after that game, the Dodgers reeled off 8 straight wins. Are you f*ing kidding me? Now I'm even more hissed off.
I think the sports betting gods may be trying to send me a message. 🤔
