2026 Quarters - Errors?

(1.) Are your marks raised above the surface of the coin or lower than the surface of the coin?

(2.) Depending on your answer to (1), list the types of error (by name) that can cause marks of that type

(3.) For each of the error types you listed in (2), describe why or why not your coins match the characteristics of that type.

(4a.) If there is only one error type that matches you coins, then you have your answer. Your coin is an example the only remaining option.

(4b.) If there are no error types that match your coin, then you also have your answer. Your coin is damaged, not an error coin

If you cannot get past (2), in other words if you cannot list possible error types, then you are over your head and you should not be looking for errors. Fill a Whitman folder and enjoy yourself with normal coins.

The two lines on the hat on the Revolutionary War quarter are part of the design; they are present on all coins. The lines are incused, by the way, meaning they are not raised.

Your so-called "V" on the Mayflower Compact quarter appears to be damage. You were mistaken when you said you had two of them that were the same, weren't you?
