My "big" Long Beach summer 2026 coin

I've been looking for a decent capped bust $5 for type for the better part of a decade. So many have been messed with, while others are just dull and lifeless. When a good one did pop up, it usually disappeared quickly.
Then this one popped up Tuesday night in my Instagram feed and I sent a DM that I was interested. That was within within 10 minutes. The dealer was going to be at Long Beach the nest day with that coin! Within an hour after getting there, the coin was mine! Another numismatic milestone. For the record, the dealer in question is Bryce, who will be turning 13 soon. He's got a great eye for someone his age.
This coin is graded AU-53 with a green CAC sticker.

Had the opportunity to meet Bryce at Long Beach on Wednesday (Day 1) and he is a very impressive YN. He proudly talked about this exact coin to me and two of my local coin friends with deserved confidence. Very small world, and also very glad to see it found a worthwhile home with you @ElmerFusterpuck!
As an aside, I can also attest to the fact that Bryce really knew his stuff. I had a PC coin with me that I shared with him, which is in a NGC 2.0 white label with green bean, and he promptly asked me for a price on it. When I politely told him it wasn't for sale, he still wanted to know what I would have asked for it had I been selling, because he wanted to test to see how close he could get to my hypothetical ask. I played along and needless to say, he was right there in the ballpark, a mere $200 difference. Impressive young man to say the least!

Always cool to see Bryce run around on the bourse floor. He is an impressive kid. I did a bit of business with him too at ANA a couple weeks back.
