Offense: FedEx Theft

Date: 09/06/2026

Location: Texas Area

The subject pictured below was arrested for intercepting a FedEx package. The FedEx driver was stopped along his route by someone asking about a package being shipped to an address in Spring Branch, Texas. Houston PD said the suspect showed the driver a photo ID that matched the name and address on the package and left with it. However, the package was meant for someone else.

NCIC and Texas Law enforcement agencies in Harris, Montgomery and Fort Bend Counties are looking for additional victims. The suspect has already been linked to several other similar thefts.

    This may be something new. The guy has hacked into a database and knows who is getting what. He generates a photo ID and shows it to a FedEx driver who hands the shipment to him. If someone was able to hack into the Apmex, JM Bullion or Provident, etc. database and be ready for the delivery, they could hit the jackpot. Finally it looks like FedEx and their people decided to play hardball and interdict the perpetrator while the police arrived.

    This is something new as far as I've witnessed. The perpetrator was apparently able to hack into a database and then target FedEx shipments by creating an ID with his face and the delivery address. So my guess is he'd park his vehicle lying in wait for the FedEx truck and go up to them before they tried to go to the actual address for the delivery.

    I hate this, but FEDEX is going to have to refuse to allow a package being given to a guy stopping them on the street to see if a package is on truck, and only delivered at said address. even then you git to make sure its the persons house there standing at.

    I have had to stop a fedex truck at next stop or down road a couple times, becuase they happen to come right before I arrived at store , home , etc. But if it keeps this new crime from occurring, Ill be happy to wait till next day.

    They have done that with the Costco gold purchases. You cannot re-direct it or pick it up on their route. You have to have a FedEx account to see the estimated delivery time and they scan your ID when they deliver it.

    I'm sure if the problem persists and becomes rampant we will see stricter requirements on shipments in general. Probably mainly affecting high value items moving to a sig only delivery or something. I would hope that the matter is addressed by the carriers asap as things like this can get out of hand really fast as scammers will quickly take advantage of the situation. Could get quite costly.

    I've had the Costco gold purchases sitting on my front porch when I got home. I know it states scan ID required but I've had several instances where they just left it anyways. I've also had Fedex deliver 10oz RCM gutter bars to an address that was not mine. They even show a picture of it sitting on someone else's porch that is no porch anywhere in my immediate area. and stating delivered and signed for. Those were purchased through Liberty Coin, and it took me about 3 months to finally recover the funds. Fedex is terrible. THKS!

    Considering the complexity of the con/fraud, where he has to generate a driver's license with his face on it and the address of the package--plus the fact that the same perpetrator pulled this off a number of times before, speaks to him hacking into a database to be ready for the delivery which he intercepts.
