I had a strange sports card-related dream.
.
Caitlin Clark and Jamie Moyer had a child who played in the WBNA for 19 seasons. Camie Moyer was a fantastic point guard – finished her career 10th all-time in assists, but held the record with most turnovers committed in history. She won a title and made a couple of all-star games. Very good player. She was instrumental in the movement that ultimately made the WNBA profitable.

I was at Fanatics Fest and came up to a dealer wearing a NY Yankees hat who had Camie’s rookie superfractor. It was in a PSA (yes, PSA was still around) slab as Authentic and had a gold MBA sticker on it. The dealer was asking $35K for the card. Suddenly, a patron wearing a Miami Dolphis hat, with a striking resemblance to Ernest P Worrell, came up to the table and the following conversation ensued:

“Hey, let’s talk about that Camie Moyer with the MBA sticker,” Ernest said to the dealer.
.
The dealer responded, “It’s a nice card. I considered consigning it to dcsports87, but thought I would try selling it here. The W is a joke, though. Me and my buddies could beat Camie one-on-one.”

“No, you couldn’t,” I said.
.
“You wanna bet?!” Exclaimed the dealer.
.
Unbeknownst to anyone, Camie Moyer, who was attending Fanatics Fest, happened to be in earshot of this conversation.

“Are you willing to bet my superfractor? We’ll play to 11 and I’ll spot you 9 points. We can play on that half-court they have set in the other room,” Camie said.
.
Without hesitation, the dealer responded, “Absolutely. There’s no way you’re beating me.”
.
In front of a large crowd, the one-on-one match took place. Camie won 11-9. The dealer put his Yankees hat back on and begrudgingly gave her the card.

“You were so lucky,” said the dealer with contempt. “You’re still not going make the hall of fame.”
.
Camie, with a smile on her face, took her card without saying a word and walked away. Sadly, the dealer was right - nobody ended up making the hall of fame in the end.

I woke up in a cold sweat. Strangest dream ever!
