Apmex and Costco gold prices

I am Getting ready to buy some gold if price comes down a bit. The only gold I currently have is modern US mint coins and I wanted to get some bullion for stacking. I wanted small weights for ease of selling in the future with easy identification. I decided either 1/10 oz eagles or Pamp gram bars.

Costco has Pamp 25 1 gram bars for 3699. Apmex has gram pamp bars for 200.85 if u buy 25. So Apmex wants 5021.25 vs 3699 at Costco. What am I missing here. How can there be a 1322 difference in the prices? Is that all markup profit for Apmex? Also any advice would be appreciated as I am new to stacking but not new to coin collecting. Thx.

    Also with Costco you can use your credit card to get points/cashback. $200/gram is outrageously high.

    APMEX has always been notoriously overpriced. Back in the day when eBay was running their bonus bucks program you could sometimes catch a roll of gutter eagles or smaller denomination pre-33 gold under spot from APMEX (with the bonus bucks) but outside of that I never bought anything from them. There are MANY dealers with prices much more favorable prices than APMEX.

    As far as liquidity/ease of selling I'd go with the 1/10oz AGEs, Maples, Krugs etc. Shops will take the bars usually under spot and it can be difficult to find a private buyer. 1/10's are always easy to move. Only issue there is premiums are crazy but if you are patient and look around you can usually find them decently priced. RGDS!

    I guess gram bars are popular with some, but have you ever seen how small they actually are? They are also typically sold for terrific premiums, but you might not recoup that upon your own sale. I have always stayed away from them.

    I use to buy from bullion exchange but they don't sell to washington state anymore. We have added sales tax . Their prices have always been better than other exchange. Now I only look to buy from other collectors.

    Same ..... I have purchased them in the past for melt and sometimes less in large lots but in general I don't deal in them. I do collect some Fractional metals for some of my collections when needed but that's about it. 😎
