Exuberance is Frothing..
I really believe that card prices are going to continue to set new records here in 2026 and on into 2027. Some people might consider this a prediction and I appreciate their simple mind. With the amount of money continuing to flow into trading cards I don't expect much weakening near-term as growth remains in a strong position, dramatically outpacing attrition in the market. When we look at a market's macro money flow we can see the trend of institutional investment replacing speculative decay in certain segments.
While there are dangerous economic trends which present as headwinds we have continued to see new money in to the market at rates which are estimated at 20:1. Referred to at the Millennial Wave the growth of the low end is also out-pacing the high end in various segments - especially non-sports.
I'll be back to pay myself on the back when something happens.

Which non-sport cards? I'm deciding between Happy Days or Mork and Mindy.

1982 - with only 10% or so participating in the market I think there's more legs. I would think you're in the Awareness Phase as the "mania" we observe is localized.

I genuinely hope he's around for 100 more years, but if not, the card I pictured was prior to my submission where it scored a 9 with none higher for either PSA or SGC. I pulled it from a pack myself in the early 90s. Best centered #1 card, thus Travolta Rookie, from the set I've ever seen and I've looked and many of them over the years as I built my mostly raw set.

You haven’t seen anything yet. I’ve contacted my old 2nd grade teacher and she’s starting a new business where you send her your graded cards and if she deems any of them worthy she will slap one of these babies on them. Projected to be a billion dollar business within 5 years. 🥳🥳

THE Ohio State Buckeyes will also gladly apply their helmet stickers to your cards. You will get at least one for making a great play and as many as three if you beat the crap out of Michigan.

When I was in grade school, I was a competitive nerd, so I was all about accumulating star stickers. Of course, after some years, you learn the stickers don't mean much.

There are a heck of a lot of newbie speculation people with a lot of funds who overspent during the 2021 mania phase and subsequently witnessed 90% price reduction of their card investments by the 2023 blowoff phase. Some of them may be sellers this time around, but I don't think many if any of them will be buyers again.

^ Like my co-worker in 2021 who forked out a bit over 2k at a show for a 1989 Score Aikman PSA 10. Plus the centering was worse than 60/40.
I warned him not to purchase at those prices...He scoffed and insisted I was wrong and that the card would be 10K in a year or 2. When he sold it at $500 (then he paid fees from that) I gleefully told him I told him so...
2 years ago when the card sunk below 400 I purchased one at 365 brought to the office with my purchase price written large on a post it stuck to the slab. He was not amused but those in my office who knew the story were howling with laughter.
