    My recollection was that the discovery coin was slabbed or shown at the ANA show but that it came from the stock that the bulk pre-buyers are able to purchase from the mint before us peasants are allowed to order. So that would make it part of the Mint's product allotment.

    CACG informed me that none of the coins sold yesterday or today qualify for the “First Day of Delivery” designation.

    While that designation’s criteria is “a coin(s) must be acquired within one day of the first day that a mint makes a new coin issue available for purchase”, CACG considers the distribution at the ANA the first day, and only coins submitted to CACG at the ANA show on that specific day qualify.

    The coins sold yesterday or today do qualify for the less restrictive First Delivery designation, which include “coins that are received by us […] within 30 days of the first shipment of a new coin issue”.

    Yes, release day if they have the product on hand. When HH is lifted, today was after 2pm, they restrict based on their inventory. Today they sold out of bags, and limited rolls to 5 per person.

    at mint hq store - hhl is enforced and they don't begin to sell fdoi items until strictly at noon.

    those with more than the hhl have F&F thing going

    Thank you. I called the Denver Mint's gift shop three times today and the Mint's main receptionist twice to ask if they had them, and nobody ever answered at either.

    Hey @Raufus! I thought I might’ve seen you at the store yesterday! I got 8 bags and 8 rolls. Sold half on eBay. Still have 3 rolls and a bag left. Just trying to decide how many more I want to open. So far I’ve opened to bags and a roll. The 2 privies came from the roll.

    No. In recent years the Denver Mint gift shop has had a change machine in it where you could put in, say, a $5 bill and get back $5 worth of the most recent Quarters, BU but loose. The last time I was there was about 3 years ago, and in $10 worth it was mostly the most recent quarters plus a few of the previous one. I don't think that there was any limit on how many you could buy, but I don't remember for sure.

    I was just wondering if the three Mints would be doing this in their gift shops with the new dollar coins. They did have such a machine at their booth at the recent ANA convention, dispensing five one dollar coins for five dollars in paper money, but for all I know that was a one-time promotional deal to get people over to their sales booth. As I said I tried calling the Denver Mint today but nobody answered the phone. According to the recording I got their gift shop is only open Mondays thru Thursdays, 8-4, so no trying tomorrow.

    Dumb question: the Mint vending machines are selling them at face value, right? I ask because a friend posted a meme on FB that mocked people who lined up to pay five bucks for one coin from the vending machines. I said it’s BS, it’s just that the machine only takes five dollar bills, but spits out five coins.

    A number of news sources, including reliable ones seem to be saying $5 for one as well.

    Yes face value and the machine probably says it $5 max per person. The person posting that the Mint was selling these $1 coins for $5 each had an obvious agenda.

    Never. Given all your trips to the DC store, you should know better!

    To the extent they have inventory, they sell the exact same things that are available on the web at the exact same prices. As others have said, and you likely just never noticed, they also have change machines that typically dispense whatever is new and exciting at face value.

    But those are the same coins you would get from a bank. Not what they sell in special packaging. In this case, it would be Trump coins without privy marks.

    Thanks to the credit card glitch that occurred yesterday, my two 100 coin bags are now on backorder. The two rolls are still processing.
    So here's my question, if all the privies were struck on the 4th of July and The Mint sold out, technically the new Trump coins being produced shouldn't have any privies marks. I am I missing something?

    50k bags is 5 million and 150k rolls is 3.75 million.

    Yes, you are missing something. Scroll back a few pages in this thread and read the debate.

    TLDR -- all the coins have likely already been struck. The question is whether privies were held back to mix into the back ordered bags and rolls. And the answer is TBD.
