Diamond Finish 2026 Morgan Dollar

I think this has been mentioned in other threads, but I think it deserves its own thread.
Apparently the Mint will release Morgan dollars (maybe Peace too) with a diamond pattern in the fields.
Here are some screen captures from a video they posted on their Facebook page today, which was accompanied by this text:

You can see the new finish in a render “hiding” near the right in these images. It’s interesting, and I would like to see it in person, but I can’t say I’m particularly inspired by or attracted to the design.

At $375 per two coin set ( Peace & Morgan Proof - 26XS ) the USM is trying hard to prop up the subscriptions. Thank you for posting the images. It's too bad they aren't scheduled to be offered separately. . .
Off-topic: I can already tell you which states I'm missing from my Innovation dollar collection. All the ones they're not making regular proof strikes of anymore.
On-topic: I'm glad to see the diamond strike may still happen. I want the Peace version.
I have heard speculation that these will be the coins shipped in the two coin set. And that makes sense to me. But I have not seen that officially confirmed anywhere.
I just hope they don’t decide to only make 250,000 of them and randomly send them to folks who order the ordinary-finish 26XS set.
Off topic, I did not know they stopped making regular proofs of all of the innovation dollars.

Once they run through all these weird finishes…..then comes Incuse? That’s the gimmick they haven’t milked yet.
Don’t forget about privy marks! So many ways they could milk this series…
