I finally got in 5min ago and was able to get the rolls. two sets of them. 12:23pm central time. Couldn’t believe it. Tried the bags first but it kept going to pay now but the bag was empty. Happy to have gotten the rolls as I forgot this was happening today.
Good job. But just to clarify, the roll option was not a set, it's only one roll. All of these dollar coins were minted in Philadelphia.

I agree, two rolls is what I should have said. Thank you for pointing that out.

Two Roll ats: 64,410 and counting down................
Two hours in, that’s about half the ATS on rolls and bags are kaput.
They are more expensive. Makes you wonder if the privy is really the driving force. If it were just all about the privy, people would be jumping on the rolls also.

Could just be the simple cost per coin that's causing it. Bags $1.545 per coin and Rolls $2.44 per coin. Then again, could be the chance of finding one is better if you have 100 from the bag vs 25 from the roll.
Since a couple of days ago, I have encountered a wall claiming there was an issue with my methods of payment. Credit cards. I went through all the variables, addresses-both mailing and billing for exact continuity, zip code variants , then removed all cards and re-populated, add new cards etc. Same problem.
I wanted to add a subscription.
Customer service was not answering. It just hung up.
After finally getting in to the website earlier today, I set up the order for a couple of rolls.
At final checkout, "due to so much activity etc etc. your order can't be placed, refresh and try again later..."
After several tries later, the message changed to the original 'problem with your payment method'
Phoned customer service and again, no answer.
Not so important this time around but later I want to buy a subscription.
Very odd. I did not get any email earlier about any problem with payment methods. Even in the spam folder...
It has to be a mint problem. The credit card posted the sale but the Mint immediately bounced it. The credit card company had no problem with the purchase. Not a security bounce etc..

I'm sure it is the cost per coin. But if you're on a major treasure hunt, i think you'd buy both. If you just want the coins themselves, you only buy the cheaper option

You bet! You max out all you can get your hands on in that case.
This is all playing out rather interestingly.
Where was NJcoin today, I was hoping to hear how wrong we all were in buying these. The last gamble like this one was the flowing hair privys, if i remember correctly. Those who played on that one made out like bandits.

He also insisted that the bags and rolls would be available through 2029. 🙄
allegedly, the privys will only be inserted into the mint sold products, and not bank rolls.
I got 2 of each, bags and rolls, after awaiting my queue time. Got 2 bags at 12:27, on back order 'til 10/7, and then went back into long queue and got 2 rolls, no probs.

This may be obvious but lets assume that there are 3 privies per bag. We all do not care for the 97 others so deposit at bank / use for FV = 154-97 = 57 for 3 = around $18 for a 250k mintage sitting president issue. I think thats more than fair and a great value! With potential for appreciation
There is no guarantee that all rolls and/or bags will have even one privy ....

@P0CKETCHANGE said: @jmlanzaf didn't some get distributed at the ANA? or were those all non-privy?
I thought the privy discovery coin came from ANA show?
I should go back and find the discovery announcement again. It's just odd because if they were all in bags and rolls and the ABPP bought bags and rolls, why don't all the ABPP dealers have Advanced Release privies for sale?
Here's the relevant section of the discovery from the Coinweek article:
"Surprise July 4th Privy Trump Dollar Surfaces Days Before U.S. Mint Launch
Heritage Auctions numismatist Rene Alvarenga discovered an unannounced “July 4th” privy-mark 2026 Donald J. Trump $1 coin inside an Advanced Delivery roll, according to CAC Grading."
These Trump $1 coins are allegedly NOT going to be released into circulation .... wondering how that happened and what exactly is that discover coin? Confused!
Also, is there supposed to be a Gold Trump coin released this year? or later?
@rockshow13 What is your source that they are not going to be released into circulation. The last I saw on the website, the USM stated they would be. @jmlanzaf posted a link earlier that explained all about the discovery coin. There is supposed to be a one ounce gold coin to be released at some point this year.

If these somehow are still available tomorrow, I'm betting they will be Unavailable within 10 minutes after they remove the HHL
Reminder about that HHL: The Household Order Limit of 2 (two) will remain in place until 2pm ET on the following business day, Thursday, September 3rd.
Massively overpriced compared to every other modern dollar/con roll, throwing in a few privy mark coins to inflate sales knowing most will be left empty handed with coins that will trade for little over face... Yeah it's pretty much what I would expect and a very predictable marketing strategy for this coin.

I didn't know about the privy lottery at the time of that pronouncement. No one did. Given that the rolls are still available 3 hours in, I'm not sure I was wrong, but for the privy hunt.
Hopefully everyone who is playing today will receive a few privies, and they won't be unequally distributed as some fear. Especially with the bags going to back order so quickly.

I too hope that anyone investing money in these receives at least one privy mark coin to help defray the costs.
I would add a couple of rolls, if I had more confidence that the privys will also show up in the backorder rolls. It is not all about the privys, but it is a consideration. I already have backorder bags that I'm doubtful about.
Comments
I will not be surprised in the least if what the mint said and what the mint did end up not being the same things - especially around this release

Without the privy hunt these coins would have been big losers.
Yes, a Heritage Auctions numismatist made the discovery, it graded MS64.
I think they still would have sold, just nowhere near a quick sell out.
Or not

ms67 is highest grade advance release privy variant ive found available online so far - asking $2500
I received the advanced releases email on 8-31 2026, two days ago:
But they were already making sales under the advanced release program before the privy was even known. 🤔
The demand is there, it's just the pace of sales that was impacted.
Rolls are now backorder.
Did they sell around 72,000 so far? I think that was the initial ATS last week. What’s left?
I don't know how to check the numbers, just that when you add the item it shows backorder and an October 7 date.
I bought two b/o rolls.
Loved how it added $9.95 shipping, then it deleted it in the final process.
😊
edited to add: Waiting Room came back, this time 7 minute wait.
I agree, two rolls is what I should have said. Thank you for pointing that out.
I'm thinking the big score will be anyone who gets a roll with a July 4th privy coin on the end of the sealed roll...

That's ~4,660 rolls in 14 minutes
250,000 privys are mixed into the rolls according to the US Mint... Great Idea for sure!
