It's even comprehensive.

It doesn't list them in ultra high grade but these probably aren't to expensive because most mint set coins are Gem.

The very first paragraph of this article had me confused already? Was Jeff confusing the 7 gold Sacs recently sold by the Mint (that sold for $360,000 - $550,000 each) with a discussion here about 5 gold sales? I didn’t follow this. I assume it was a honest mistake that can (and should) easily be edited in his article?

The Mint kept 5 pieces and sold 7. I guess he got the two numbers mixed up.

And for accuracy, the actual sales prices were $360,001 - $550,001 as I believe the coins were made legal tender with that extra $1.

And speaking of the mega-rare gold Space Sacs, the $360,001 coin just resold at Stacks today at $390,400 (over $30,000 higher than its last auction appearance).

Since it's an attributed variety, I'm just wondering if it was mistakenly overlooked or intentionally not mentioned in Jeff's article.

I think a lot of the big shots look around here. ...Especially some of the sharpest.

I wouldn't be surprised if one or two actually post but I have little or no reason to believe it. This site (et al) are part of the hobby so you must have some knowledge of this place to keep up to date. No doubt a few have the opinion we're irrelevant.

I figure most people who sound up to date are.

Hi everyone,

I've been closely following the various threads that have opened up recently regarding this particular coin, and I find the technical debate surrounding these dollar varieties highly interesting.

As a collector residing in Ecuador, where the U.S. dollar serves as our official daily currency, I have the opportunity to handle and review Sacagawea dollars on a regular basis. While it's true that high-value varieties are not a common occurrence in loose pocket change, being here on the ground allows me to properly analyze the circulation flow and the real-world variations of the coin in the market.

In fact, I have been planning to produce a documentary here in my country to analyze how everyday use in local shops and commerce causes such extreme natural wear on these coins, pushing them into truly unique conditions. Along with this project, I still spend considerable time searching for uncirculated pieces in excellent condition; I am constantly and meticulously looking for the elusive Cheerios Dollar error and the Wounded Eagle variety directly from daily transactions.

If any of the forum members have any technical inquiries, require specific data on how these golden dollars behave in local circulation, or wish to look deeper into the matter, I am more than happy to assist and contribute to the forum.
