I found this while going through a large bulk purchase of Lincoln cent albums at my buddy's shop the other day and I've never seen anything like it.
Someone took a 1919-S cent and punched a '0' over the second 1 in the date to try and make it look like a 1909-S. They even tooled off the VDB on Lincoln's shoulder.
Apparently, it fooled someone enough to wind up in an album, and got past my buddy and his assistant, likely because of the quantity they were buying.
They quickly scanned the book (which interestingly had a very nice and genuine S VDB and a nice '22 no D die pair 2) and made an offer based mainly on the keys. I helped cut their losses a little by buying it and we all had a good laugh passing it around.

I didn't catch that! It's raised. Reminds me of what you'd see on a coin struck with a rusted die. Lots of weird stuff going on here.

I have seen 1944-D cents altered to "1914-D" where the VDB was tooled off the shoulder.
