OGH Holder listed on PCGS Verification as "Holder Type: Gold Shield"

Hi all -

Wondering if this is a PCGS listing error, a red flag, or something I'm missing.

This OGH High Relief is listed for sale and there are photos of it in the OGH case in the last couple weeks. However, on the PCGS verification page, it says, "Holder: PCGS Gold Shield" which I imagine can't be true of an OGG?

Relatedly, what are the various "Holder types" designations on the PCGS verification page? So far I've seen "Regular" and "Gold Shield."

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

A modern Gold Shield holder would have an eight-digit cert number. Somebody made a simple clerical error at some point.

Successful BST transactions: EagleEye, Christos, Proofmorgan, Coinlearner, Ahrensdad, Nolawyer, RG, coinlieutenant, Yorkshireman, lordmarcovan, Soldi, masscrew, JimTyler, Relaxn, jclovescoins, justindan, doubleeagle07

Now listen boy, I'm tryin' to teach you sumthin' . . . . that ain't an optical illusion, it only looks like an optical illusion.

    My mind reader refuses to charge me. . . . . . .

Or, possibly, maybe an owner got it re-holdered and it kept the old seven-digit cert number?

Is it on Apmex? They photoshop their images.

Thanks, but it's currently in the OGH holder, so I don't think that would make sense, right?

If it's offered as still being in the OGH then the most simple and direct scenario is a database error on the part of PCGS. It would not be the first time.

So I emailed PCGS about this, and got what was honestly the most useless customer service email I've ever received, 7 days later.

Me: "This coin https://www.pcgs.com/cert/09943730 is listed on your website as "gold shield holder," however it is being offered for sale today, with photos taken this week, in an OGH holder (link). Since it is not possible to move from a Gold Shield holder to an OGH holder, either the PCGS database on this coin is errant, or the holder is counterfeit. Can you please look into your records and let me know which it is?"

PCGS: "Hi! We looked into it, and this is what we found on this certification number: ttps://www.pcgs.com/cert/09943730" (yes, this same exact link I sent them, and nothing changed on the page).

So point 1, how incredibly useless. Point 2, what do I do? Do I just assume the PCGS database has an error on this ~$40k purchase and assume all is well?

    Thanks

    Have you contacted the seller?

It says “standard” next to the holder line for me, so it may have been corrected. I believe any coin in a Gold Shield holder would have a TrueView as well.

I'm seeing it listed as a standard holder. Where are you getting gold shield from?

it said gold shield just 15 minutes ago, a member of our team fixed the issue so now it accurately states Standard
