Worng thread with what I initially wrote, but FL finally has a new coach and new QB.
Anything over 100 (really 75) might as well just use a random number generator and yes Michigan State and Purdue are that bad

Sam Houston State is the answer
Michigan State & Purdue may be garbage Big 10 teams, but Sam Houston State has a completely different type of smell.
we're talking about a CUSA team that went 2-10 last year, lost by 8 touchdowns to Texas and gained 100 yards in that game. if they played either Purdue or Michigan State, they'd lose by multiple touchdowns. which makes those rankings so very entertaining. it's as if the creator deliberately stuck them beneath SHSU so that they could also stick anyone and everyone associated with those two schools with a hot poker and royally piss them off. no one who doesn't have an axe to grind would ever rank them directly beneath Sam Houston St, i assure you.1 -
Were also talking about garbage teams in general at that point. I have a bigger issue with Hawaii at 38 or Boise at 50. But at the end of the day its a meaningless ranking that probably did have some click bait involved with it which they usually do

TCU UNC game is worth watching and thats mostly that its funny if Belli loses. NC State and UVA too and Memphis UNLV will likely have playoff implications for the group of 5 team

Hammonds going to start a few games while he gets acclimated I would guess. But its kind of the same situation where its a court order thats letting Castellanos do that and we will see how long that holds. They could lose him at any time

I meant that it was 94 at kickoff and very humid. Before classes started with a replacement for ND with an extreme heat advisory in LA. I only heard about the game because I know someone who went and he sent me a picture of the pain. We can go with the narrative that they don’t love football or the program is bad. I don’t know what your angle is - I was just telling you what Fox News isn’t. Or whatever you read with your ears these days.

I've been watching some game highlights, mainly Bowl/Playoff games from 2000-date and two things stand out:
--- Field Goal kickers have improved dramatically.
--- perhaps the single thing seperating the best teams is overall speed.It should be interesting to see those two factors in play this season.

Has nothing to do with Fox news. The pictures of the stadium were all over facebook yesterday.
At least someone else here admitted they have attendance issues. They have low attendance even when the weather isn't hot. I wasnt trying to bash the team.

Looking ahead to Saturday I see Ohio State will be playing perennial powerhouse Ball State!! I wonder if they score 70?? The biggest take away in preparation for Week 2 and the trip to Texas is will there be any significant injuries. 😇

It is his personality, he did the same thing when he was HC in Cleveland and it turned the media against him almost immediately. Early on he received positive coverage with stories about his dedication, long hours and attention to even the smallest detail. Had he been more personable and engaging with the press corps he'd have had them on his side and his tenure with the Browns may have been better and longer. He chose gruff.
Belichick was the polar opposite of an earlier Browns HC, Sam Rutigliano. His post game press conferences were "must watch" TV and the media loved him.Once, after a tough loss, a reporter tried to bait him. In his typical disarming fashion Coach Rutigliano said something like "There are 2 billion people in China that don't care that we lost today" which got laughter and his message was clear --- The Browns can't dwell on the loss, we have to start preparing for next week.
Sam Rutigliano is still a much loved man by most Cleveland Browns fans, Bill Belichick not so much. I think I'll go watch some Kardiac Kids highlights.

OSU is over a 50 point favorite. Teams struggle to cover that but OSU has serious issues and there are no excuses if they lose that game

As we get closer to our favorite teams kicking off their season I had an interesting thought pop into my head: While it is easy tothink about who you r favorite team is, the team you want to win it all, what is the team you'd like to see fail and fall flat on their face??
For me it's LSU and Lane Kiffin if only because of the way he did 'Ole Miss at the end of last season.

Bama isnt the Saban Bama anymore. They brought in a west coast coach and was absolutely the wrong hire. Bama better figure out thats not the right guy pretty quickly with Kiffen now at LSU and unlimited resources basically

Cignetti and Indiana are maybe the best “feel good” story to come out of NCAA football in a long time. As the Head Coach he gets much of the credit and he deserves it. But I think that’s where the “Google me” begins and ends. Winning at IUP, Elon Phoenix and James Madison shouldn’t inspire anyone.
This season is where the test begins and if I’m wrong please remind me in January. Cignetti and the Hoosiers sort of snuck up on everyone. This year teams will see them coming.

The shuffling of conferences over the years adding Penn State and Oregon to the BIG reshaped the competition, one could argue that Cignetti happened to Indiana as well
I'm all for competition, I don't like or dislike Ohio State but it's good to see them fighting for the BIG top spot

Back to Cignetti, he was resigned, willingly or not, to being a career Assistant Coach. All I'm saying is that the schools where he's been HC prior to Indiana are the kind of sacrificial lambs that the big teams play, what I mockingly call The Little Sisters of the Poor. After almost 30 years as an assistant if Cignetti was going to get the call he should have already gotten it to join a top program. I don't know what held him back but he's sure taken advantage of this opportunity.
