Yes, I'll post pics of the coins in natural light in a min along with some of the lettering. The lettering is hard to photograph due to glare, but I don't want to remove from the capsule.

Do these eventually sellout? We are around ~4,400 at 3:05. I think they will especially after hearing about the long lines at ANA.

I bought each of the three previous Best of the Mint coins on the first day they became available and I did choose budget shipping ($13.90) for today's coin at checkout. I got an immediate shipping discount of $3.95 on the order summary which lowered the total cost of shipping to $9.95. On the order confirmation e-mail, it still shows $9.95 for shipping.
I'm going to have to consider if it's worth my time to call the Mint to recover that $10.

I dont get many things graded, so it's often years between experiences sending things in
outside of considering not opening box [or bag lol] it's shipped in to maintain longer term option of getting FDOI designation, are there any other callouts or best practices specific to this issue to remember when sending in for grading, or just do a normal submission process?
for example - would I want to open box [or bag lol] to see if I got a signed cert from the mint director to consider getting that slabbed too?

Very happy that I was able to get the set. Good that it was not an instant sellout.
I had thought about just selling the medal because I wanted the 1804 the second the Mint released photos and info. Nope, not now. Keeping them both.
I paid for the Next day business shipping. However, that means it will be next day when it is actually shipped. Cannot get here soon enough.

Both items are stunning. It beggars belief that the mint can produce things as beautiful as these pieces shortly after offering the one ounce liberty bell "product" at well over three times the price.

I had the luxury of being able to study the coin before walking out of the store. If I had seen anything at all, I would have switched it out. I loaned several people my loupe while I was there. As I had mentioned, one person took theirs back based on a fault. I'm not sure what that was, but everyone else seemed pretty happy.

What's stopping someone with $23M from buying the remaining inventory and melting 4000 of them into a big brick to lower the final mintage? Hypothetically, of course. Like, are there laws preventing that, or could someone silly enough do that?

The same fate awaits BOM 5 next month. Maybe a tad slower selling than this one. Asking collectors to put out $5700 twice in 30 days is a big ask.

3962 (four sold while I was writing this). Like others, I jumped in at noon, and after a couple of minutes in the waiting room, got in.
For anyone who's worried about that "backorder" thing, I had to remind myself that Sept 2 is...Wednesday.
And because someone else mentioned the 2009 UHR. I got two, graded 69 & 70. Both first strike. In the summer, during the throes of the Great Recession, a buddy of mine asked to borrow a pile of money. I don't have much, but, for once I actually had some, so I made the mistake of lending it to him. He paid me back a few months later than he "promised." In the interim, I ended up getting strapped for cash. figured I'd sell a UHR. The dealer at Long Beach offered me $1600 for the 69 and $1900 for the 70. So I sold the 70. A few years later I saw that the 69 was "bullion plus" while the 70 was around $5k. I was pissed. My guess (without looking) is that they're back to being a few hundred bucks apart in price.
